Excellent Alpine Pack

I recently used the Granite 22 on a trip to Italy, including several via ferrata's and a high-alpine circuit. The pack carried comfortably throughout the trip and offered a great balance of organization, durability, and functionality. The dual-access design was especially useful for reaching items buried deep in the pack without having to unpack everything. The carry system was comfortable and I found the chest strap and waist belt more than adequate for my needs. The material feels extremely durable, and I had no issues with abrasion after repeated contact with rock. The pack stayed close to the body when moving fast. For multi-hour excursions, the capacity was ideal. I was able to comfortably carry a helmet, harness, food, water, rain jacket, and other essentials. I also appreciated the exterior zip pocket for keeping important items secure and easily accessible, such as my passport and car keys. Overall, this is a really nicely designed pack that performed exceptionally well in the alpine. I can't wait to add the next size up to my gear collection!

Almost the perfect small pack

Recently purchased this pack. It's great but is missing a key feature I've liked on my long time BD multi pitch pack. Mesh side pockets for easy reach back access to snacks, belay gloves crack.. gloves.. Blue ice ( dragonfly 25) recently took that idea further with one side suitable for a water bottle and the other side angled slightly for easy reach around access. For me this is a great component to ease of use on a back pack, minimizing the need to take the bag off. Another thing of note is when the bag is full, the zippered stash pocket is hard to access and open. It's somewhat nice to have an internal sleeve ( bladder sleeve) I stash a wag bag or other rarely used miscellaneous to have in pinch items. Without the side mesh pockets, I haven't committed to using the bag yet and may take it back to the store. So I can't speak to the breathability of it, but my little BD bag uses the 3d foam mesh ( not the trail running style) on the back and shoulder straps for great ventilation. I think It's great La sportivata went with standard style shoulder straps rather than the wider trail running mesh things. The zippered side access is great, the Daisy chain great. Materials feel great. Pretty light, rope carry works and is easy+fast. It fits a first aid kit, lightweight:puffy, rain pants, jacket, harness, rescue gear, 12 alpine draws, 10 lightweight quick draws, single rack, rock shoes, squishy water bottle just sneaks in. It would carry a double rack without the water bottle in it. So great capacity for a little pack. Seems to carry the weight close to the body, unlike some other packs the bag doesn't stick out anywhere ( ie streamline around shoulders) But for me the mesh side pockets are so so handy.... And without them on this pack I'm finding it hard to commit to keeping it. Thanks
