This Osprey will be put to use daily - I provide physical medicine and have a mobile practice covering 19 locations in 12 states. That said , most of the travel is in my car , no gauntlet of airline baggage handlers , and even if I was flying somewhere it’s perfectly sized as a carry on. I especially like the hidden backpack straps feature. The Osprey is replacing another piece of luggage that was in use for 14 years from the manufacturer Eagle Creek.By appearance and quality of the assembly and the materials it looks to be well qualified for the road ahead. I guess you could say I like birds.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall it’s a great bag especially as carry on for short trips. The top zip compartment is kind of pointless. You’d have to fill it prior to packing the main part of the bag and it’s too big/ takes up too much internal room. If I needed separation then I’d get an internal pack bag and if you do use it then it doesn’t give good access to anything you need on the flight etc (which is what I presume it’s there for) as the rear of your clothes etc just jam against it.
The bag is 55 x 35 x 23cm, 2. 5kg. Ryanair cabin bag limit is 55 x 40 x 20cm, 10kg. But. . . the wheels come of very easily with a 4mm allen key, cutting that 23 down to 20cm, so should fit. You're not allowed to carry tools on board, but a single minimallist "K20" 4mm allen key stuck in the bag should be fine. Okay, the bag itself is 25% of your cabin bag weight allowance, but they never weigh a bag that's on your shoulders?
