Nice little travel pillow.
Comfortable. Works well. Purchased because of the shape when inflated. I used it on an international flight. I was concerned about buying something with no reviews so I took my memoryfoam pillow just in case but never took it out of my bag. As with any inflatable the firmness changes with the cabin pressure. It folds up very small and is lightweight.
Needs improvements
I’ma huge fan of matador products and own many items. This one did not live up to the usual glory of the rest. What I liked is that it is light, easily packable, and the material is very comfortable. The inflate/deflate mechanism is also convenient. However, this is outweighed by the cord to tighten it being close to a choking feeling around the neck, and the whole thing sprung a leak on the first flight I took with it. It would be more convenient having a form factor that would allow you to pack it with the eye pillow (the eye pillow is a 5/5 - highly recommend) and the travel pack that goes on a backpack strap. I find myself fumbling with all three when I’m boarding and deplaning.
Poor design
This product has a fatal flaw. The retaining cord that secures the pillow in place is placed across the middle of the pillow. In use, this means that cord doesn't stay tucked under your chin as expected, but across your face. It's disconcerting trying to sleep with a cord in that position, to say the least. Leaving the cord loose is not a good option since it means the pillow flops out to the sides, negating the neck support. Someone with a very long neck might not have the same problem. The pillow itself is lightweight and very packable, and appears well-made. It inflates quickly with a few breaths. The bladder is quite thin and may not hold up over long term travel. The black bag the it comes with could use a splash of color to make it easier to find in a dark airplane or train.
Save your money
Flimsy, unsupportive, and ridiculously overpriced for what it is.
Great travel pillow!
Bought this on an impulse after a nightmare travel situation and very little sleep. So glad I did!! Easy to use, easy to inflate, the contour is the reason I chose this one over others and it worked so well for me. Love that it has a hand washable cover. Very comfortable and so grateful to have it!
No support
I really enjoy Matador products but this just didn't support my head at all, you'd maybe be able to use it if you have a window seat and an extra pillow, or if your seat reclines a lot. Maybe my neck is too long,I don't know but it provided no neck support for me.
