toe box smaller than expected
This looks and feels like a wonderfully shock absorbent shoe, but Altra has made the toe box on this design a little smaller than its signature practice. Altra does note this in their product description and I took a chance. However, I liked the roomier shoe better and so will order a different model

Altra ADD and changing your mind like your shoes
Altra and REI folks, long time wearer for 15 years. Your shoes have been up and down, different styles tried out. One thing remains and even in your widest shoe. Widest does not mean that you make the top of the shoe higher; wider means the sides get wider especially where it curves in. The sides of my feet hang over the rubber. I am between an original and standard. I haven’t seen a Lone peak or all weather one since 2014. Even between the originals, the shoe has been changed and it is not just about making the sole wider. The Material on top either needs to have some give or have structure to hold the flesh in. I am on the Torin Leather right now and it is a standard that is not wide other wise my feet shifts around in the front. You mess with the tongue, the laces, the sole, etc on the different models. Cinderellas are not happy with the Altra world. Look at the majority of your reviews and make a stance over the life of the shoe and what sold. ‘It is all about making money right and happy customer, happy buyer. D

Cozy and Supportive

Love these shoes! I use them primarily for walking/jogging with my dogs on concrete. They are very comfortable. This is my 4th pair (prior 3 pairs were the Paradigm 6). The blue was out of stock so I got the peach ones. They are very cute and I'm glad I was forced to get the new color. I have bunions and generally need to wear shoes with lots of cushion. My podiatrist recommended this brand and model and I find that I don't need to put my orthotics in them and don't experience pain in my feet. However, the footbeds are removable so orthotics will easily fit in them.

Paradigm 7 redesign made it worse!

Altra broke it! I've loved every version of Paradigms since version 3 when they helped me recover from plantar fasciiatis. I currently have three pairs of version 6 that I rotate. This version rubbed too much at the back and the fit seemed more narrow and long. I returned these and am searching for another brand. Bring back the fit of version 6 for version 8 please!!

If you liked the Paradigm 6s, you'll hate these

If you liked the Paradigm 6s, you'll hate these. Everything. that was good about the 6 no longer applies. My foot moves around in the show side to side, my heel slips, and these shoes make it impossible for my feet to land softly while running.

Goldilocks support and comfort

I’m using these during training for a half marathon and they are keeping me super comfortable. I bought my regular size, although I do have a bit of extra space in the toe box (widthwise and lengthwise). My feet have tended to get achy in a trainer that’s too pillowy, but these have a good amount of structure and enough bounce to keep my feet happy mile after mile.

Supportive, no break in period.

I’m an overpronator who was looking for something different than HOKA or Brooks. These are comfortable, supportive and lightweight. I have a narrow foot but I appreciate that there’s plenty of room in the toe box. These were ready to go straight out of the box. Great purchase!

I just keep buying more of em

Ordering my first Paradigm 7 after having 3 pair of Paradigm 6. Great cushion and fantastic lateral support. I use them for Zumba classes and long distance out door walking.

Nice blues

I ordered a size 6 wide...way too wide across toe, heel area, and even a bit longer length than my size 6.5 Provision 7. I sized down to a 5.5 wide, and still fairly loose all over even with a thick sock. I really like the style and feel of this so I will order regular sizes 5.5 and 6.
