Great, lightweight, full-featured shell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the opportunity to test this jacket for several months running around the mountains in Southcentral Alaska. First, the weight of the jacket, for the amount of features that it has, is great. A waterproof/breathable shell complete with pit zips, two large hand pockets, an internal chest pocket, and 3-way adjustable hood for about 12 ounces is impressive. I like that the pockets are placed high so that they do not interfere while wearing a harness. In really heavy rain, the face fabric of the jacket seemed to wet out fairly quick, but the membrane still kept me dry. Being a fairly lightweight, 2-layer jacket, the inside is a bit plastic-like, and can feel a little clammy next to skin. I'm looking forward to using this jacket more in the winter. I think it will make an ever better shell for ice and winter alpine climbing when the weather gets nasty. Note: Outdoor Research gave me this free product to try.
