Not durable at all
I bought four of these expecting them to last if I cared for them as directed. I did so, don't wear them very frequently, and actually don't wash them often. I am not hard on my clothes; I work at a desk. They still developed multiple tiny holes on the front. The first ones noticed were prior to a year of owning the shirts, but I assumed I'd done something wrong. Now all four have holes, so presumably it's a durability issue. At this price point and with minimal use, these should have lasted longer. I would recommend shopping elsewhere, especially since their customer service folks seem to think one year is an acceptable lifespan of a shirt.
Tight neck and VERY see-through
I love Icebreaker and have many items from them, but this top...the "Ashen" color is very see-through, and the neck is very tight. I feel like I would be pulling at it all day so I don't feel like I'm choking. Also, what's with the scratchy tags sewn into the seam on the side?? The only way to remove them is to either cut them (but then you are left with an equally scratchy stub) or cut the thread and then re-sew the side. I don't know many people with the skill to do that effectively. Considering that EVERYONE removes tags, either make it a soft tag or just attach it to the shirt with a tiny safety pin like other brands.
Bought 3
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ipurchase the gray the lavender and olive green. The grays neckline was perfect but the lavender and green neck lines are a little scrunched does not quite perfect. Maybe that's why they were on sale? It's a great basic. I can wear it work when it's hot and not smell so I'm happy with my purchased.
Gigantic, just HUGE
Nice quality shirt and good, longer sleeve length. Problem is the sizing is way off. This shirt (blue) is 22" wide vs 18.5" for Tech Lite 2018 in same size (gray). Just GIGANTIC.
it is very comfortable to wear either in winter or spring.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the color ,so I bought second one.
I will definitely purchase another one!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite things about this product: (1) The neckline is flattering and comfortable. I can't bear high necklines, but so many alternatives are cut too low. This is pretty perfect. (2) The cut. I'm an older woman and so many tops are tight through the hips or too long. Again, this one fits beautifully. (3) The pattern. It's nice to find an alternative to solid colors. This one is interesting but still fairly neutral. I love it. (4) The weight/warmth - a great travel shirt, especially for late spring thru early fall. Cozy but not too warm.
Good basic base layer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate the fine quality of the IB products and I specifically purchased this item for the next time I do overseas travelling because I like to have basic base layers. I now try to purchase mostly only 100% merino as this really makes a difference in the "smell factor", especially when you might be wearing the item for a couple days at a time. I like that these hand wash nicely in the sink and dry quickly. I purchase a large in t-shirts because my preference is a looser fit.
My new favorite shirt!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I discovered merino wool clothing this past spring. I have slowly been trying products from different companies. This t-shirt is far superior to any other that I have tried. I love it and have worn it every day since receiving it. It has all the benefits of merino wool like never smelly and needing washed less often than cotton or synthetic. While none of my merino wool clothing has been itchy, this shirt just has an extra smooth feel against my skin that I adore.
Missing the Tech Lite ii
Not sure if the other reviews here are of the current 'Tech Lite iii' shirt. I thought the ii was perfect, and was curious about what changes the iii would introduce. This latest model is significantly wider, a little longer, and has higher tighter neckline. The effect is a too-big, unfeminine tee-shirt with a choke collar. It's significantly less attractive, and while I could not resist buying a new tech lite ii most seasons, I will never buy another iii.
Great fit and quality
My go to t-shirts! Feel nice, look and fit great. I’m 5’2 130lb and the small is perfect. I usually have trouble with my broad shoulders, but they matched up perfectly! I have grey, turquoise and navy. It fits snug along my chest and shoulders and is loose around my core with enough length I can lift my arms without my stomach showing. I only wash them inside out with wool soap. Love these!
