I am 5’9” at 175lbs with an average build. The medium is not too loose and feels great!! The sleeves are tad long but not bad at all. I had the zipper catch a couple times over a past couple days, but that’s me rushing. The cut works very well with my height. The only thing that bothers me is the jacket pitches a tent by the stitching in the midsection of the jacket when you sit down.
While on a trip to Montreal a couple of years ago, I had to purchase a Mountain Hardware brand rain jacket because I forgot to pack one. Recently when I washed it according to the cleaning directions, it ripped along the neckline. I contacted Mountain to get a warranty evaluation. I sent the jacket to them, and I was approved for a replacement. The company sent the funds for the new purchase. I am very happy with the jacket as it is exactly the type of light rain jacket I was looking for. The fitting is just right. Great warranty and I highly recommend the company for your next purchase.
Late winter/spring rains have gone with fewer chances to wear these pants. Today's raincast was good enough as I went outside to squeegee my car's windows before driving to 7-11. A light to moderate rain began and droplets formed on my water resistant jacket and MH pants. No soaking in (jacket and pants) at all, especially these waterproof pants. 60 degree temps/high humidity so I took a chance of just wearing pants without shorts or jeans. Sitting and driving, I felt zero water intrusion onto my legs. Great combination for shell and waterproofness. I hope these MH pants last for the rainy days as I expect to wear them at every opportunity instead of wetting shorts and jeans in my walking exercise (<6 miles NYC).
Excellent rain jacket, I used it hiking Kilimanjaro last week and it was great. It was light, easy to put on, kept me dry and looks great!
Solid waterproof jacket. 6’1” / 180 lbs. Jacket fits well over a mid to heavyweight layer like a hooded sweatshirt or a sweater. The pit zips are a great feature for regulating heat if in the car driving or doing something more athletic without having to take the jacket off to cool down. I have the yellow color. It looks just like the product photography. One tip for maintaining the jacket — hang on a plastic or metal hanger, not a wood hanger. The waterproof lining can become tacky and will stick to the wood and flake / tear away from the jacket.
Great lightweight rain/windbreaker jacket for backpacking. Appreciate the "pit" zippers. I had an older version of this jacket with a wire? in the hood brim that allowed for adjustment of the brim - wish this was still included. Overall a great jacket, would recommend.
Almost Perfect. Good quality, fit, and style in a lightweight rain jacket. Its only shortcoming is lack of a two way zipper which would be extremely useful in a jacket of this type.
The jacket is very well made and fits great. Not too baggy or too tight with enough room to put on a mid layer underneath during winter.
Excellent rain protection, slightly heavy for UL folk, but so functional. You won’t regret it. Mountain hardware warranty keeps me coming back.
Minimal lightweight rain jacket. Exactly what you would expect, nothing more, nothing less. It packs light and water beads right off it!
