Disappointed after loving the 13 and 14

I was really trying to force myself to like this shoe, but after 20-30 miles I realized I didn’t like it as much as I loved the peregrine 13 and 14 and I returned them today. I felt like my foot was slipping sideways within the shoe every time I stepped somewhere that wasn’t side to side flat. I even tried REALLLY tightening my laces which I’ve NEVER done and it didn’t help. This was with a regular width shoe btw which is what I always buy. I also was getting pain in the balls of my feet. I could definitely feel the sharp rocks on the balls of my feet more than the previous models I had. Basically, the previous versions I had, I wore them and never thought about them. These shoes, I was constantly thinking about my feet slipping or how I could feel the rocks more under the balls of my feet. The trails in Tucson, AZ are very rocky and sharp. These shoes are probably fine in a more tame type of trail like in the forrest or something

Amazing!!

They’re really amazing. I went on a trail run/walk and it felt like I was walking on clouds. I did sprain my ankle since they’re not ankle length but they’re amazing and look good.

Not an all trail runner.IT staff, wrk on review pge

The fit is good, they feel secure just like the pair I bought a few years back. These have more cushion in the ball. But just like the years old model, not good for hardened, easy trails as they’ll really work calves which ultimately make the legs work harder. Standard fit has more width than other shoes, a plus , as I usually wear a wide. So like my old pair I had in Arizona. Good for softer, technical, rocky, rooted trails. Not an overall trail runner. P.S. REI, work on the reviews page for mobile. This thing is all over the place

Great Trail Running Shoe!

I’ve really enjoyed running in the Peregrine 16 so far. They look great and feel like an ideal balance between protection and lightweight responsiveness. They don’t feel bulky or overly cushioned, which I appreciate since I typically wear barefoot shoes and prefer footwear that doesn’t dramatically alter my mechanics. The drop feels natural and comfortable, and overall they’ve been a great, well-balanced trail shoe.

Reduced Lug Depth & Stability

I am disappointed that the lugs have been reduced from 5mm to 4mm. Also, with the added insole cushioning, I experience less stability on steep, irregular downhills. I suppose the new 16 may be great for most people, but not me. There are plenty of trail shoes for the middle market of well-maintained trails, but the Saucony Peregrine 15 (including version 8+) was ideal for rough and steep trails.

Great shoe, need an intermediate size

Excellent shoe. Wished there was a size 14.5 or a slimmer width.

Excellent Trail Shoe

I run on local trails that are a mixture of sand, dirt, and plenty of tree roots. This shoe handled all without a problem. It's comfortable but stable with good grip. I really liked the Peregrine 15. I like this one, the Peregrine 16, even more. It's just fun to run in. For me it was true to size (size 10).

Love these

These fit perfect and accommodate my wide feet. Sole is grippy and not worried about stabbing my toes.

Perfect fit

My favorite version of the Peregrine since number 10. Great fit and very good grip. My first run in them was on snow, ice and wet surfaces with no slipping.
