Really like these runners. I also own the ultra ventures 4, but I prefer the a smaller stack height these Terra ventures provide. These shoes allow for more ankle stability while still providing some cushion. I still had extra room for toe splay but it doesn’t feel as sloppy towards the front as a Altra LPs. Overall, very happy with the shoe, just wish it had more color options
Overall, this shoe seems fine thus far. Grip/tread fine, true to size, etc. I do love Topo for the toebox, just comfortable to run in, and that’s fine too. As one other reviewer mentioned, though, and reason for the minus-one star, is the short heel height. I don’t understand why they essentially cut it down probably a good 1/4 inch. My heel settled in after running a few miles, so feels more secure, but as I tend to run in a lot of water and muck and sucky (literally) mud, I foresee a shoe(s) pulled off my feet into the mud. I usu wear speedlaces too, but may reconsider for this model. Really wish shoe manufacturers would produce a design, figure out if most love it, and just stick with it, for years. Please! Fortunately, I’ve never given into the myth of running daily, so my shoes last for a couple of seasons, but for the prices, they should be well-thought out, not hinting at cutting corners, which a short heel cup suggests.
After short break-in period, shoe fits well and is comfortable. Build quality appears to be very good. Fairly minimal cushioning but clearly stated in product description. General use is for daily walking but plan for more trail (hiking) use in future.
Love the rounded type box and the low drop in these shoes. Using them to train for the Camino and if they hold out they the training mileage, possibly be my daily shoes there. Would love to be able to alternate them with some Vibram Fivefingers, but was very disappointed that i cannot get them thru REI.
Terraventure 4s are magical, the most comfortable trail shoes I’ve ever had. Terraventure 5s have a weird outer edge of the foot cushioning that hurts my feet.
Really enjoying these shoes and the service was really good was able to talk to the guy in the sales department and he recommended them . So glad he took the time . Four out of five stars is they fold across my right foot instead of bend across my toe trying to work around that issue.
Perfect fit for my splayed toes. And sincerest thanks to Shelley for all her help while I tried on what felt like a thousand pairs.
I use these shoes for walking, very little cement mostly bark paths and dirt and they are comfortable and grip
Nice wide toe box. Very comfortable. Seemingly good traction. My feet are very happy.
