Perfect heel lock-down! The laces have plenty of extra length in a size 13 to tie a runners loop!!!! These remind me of an old pair of DVS skate shoes in looks but give me the "old man" support I need. I put good insoles in these and still have tons of room to wiggle my toes but lace them snug with a loop to lock my heel and I can definitely hike in these. The outer sole is not like the super quish-slushy hoka stuff so don't expect that. Personally I find a stiffer sole is much better for the long miles anyway. Bulid quality is solid. I hope they don't stop making these or try to "improve them" anytime soon
Supportive Comfortable Casual
I’m borderline medium-wide, the medium was too tight, the wide is just a smidgeon wider and fits perfectly. I require a relatively stiff shoe, with good gait guidance, supportive (not flexible) forefoot, and good heel counter. These fit like a glove on first wearing. I see this more as a casual / lifestyle shoe, with maybe ability to “hike” (read walk) on gravel, hardscrabble, and so on. Andre after a nice hike, go shopping and out to dinner. So in that sense it’s Swiss Army knife of a shoe… I bought these for travel, long day trips, etc. If I want to do anything in the realm of light-moderate hike, then the Keens go on…
Comfortable and good looking shoe
As with all Oboz shoes, the Bozeman II is as comfortable a light hiking shoe as you can get. Or is it a sneaker? It has the support and grip of a hiking shoe but feels as light as a sneaker. I read other reviews citing the narrowness of the shoe and ordered this in my usual size but in a wide version. Fits perfectly. I did not order the waterproof version (not sure if it’s even an option) because I don’t want the warmth of a waterproof shoe during the summer months. I sprayed it with NikWax water repellent and that should be enough. The classic brown color looks great with yellow laces.
Top quality & comfort
I purchased these shoes for spring in the mountains, and for something I could comfortably wear to work. Although they're are not waterproof, I purchased them knowing this and have an understanding that I should not expect them to be great shoes on soggy days. The Bozeman IIs are quite simply the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Zero break in time was needed. I'm a big guy, 6'4" and 230 and I find the cushioning great! My guess is I'll wear these shoes every day, all summer long. I couldn't be happier.
Quality and comfortable
I have worn the shoes two days now at this time I am happy with the quality and the comfort. I think they look good. Happy with the purchase. Of course I won’t be able to give much feedback until I’m worn them for a while
Bozeman II
Great help and love the shoes so far
Oh well.....
I really liked shoes by Oboz. I bought 2 pair of the same low cut hiking shoe. I bought these for a trip overseas... alas, after 2 days in Paris, (and not walking more than I've done in the earlier 8 days and after switching shoes,) my ankles broke out in a sea of red from broken capillaries. I am disappointed as I really liked the oboz brand. Maybe just these shoes, hopefully not a result of the company having been sold last year [?] I'll ill be returning these.
Looks good, but not comfortable for me
I like the look but I find that they aren’t comfortable for me. Theres something about the collar that rides too high and hurts my ankle when walking. I tried to fix it with inserts but it didn’t help enough.
Stylish!
Comfortable, stylish shoes. The extra lacing helps keep the shoe comfortably snug to your foot.
