A Versatile Windshell for Every Adventure!
The Squamish Hoody has become my second skin for practically every activity. From trail runs and bike rides to walks in light drizzle, its performance as a windshell is outstanding. I consider it the perfect layer for the transition between spring and summer. It’s quick drying and packs down to almost nothing, making it easy to store. While the integrated pocket is great for essentials like keys or an ID. I understand the focus on weight. It would be the perfect jacket for me if the pocket were just large enough to hold a phone.
Great alpine lightweight jacket !
A great jacket for alpine adventures! Extremely light and packable, dries quickly and cuts the wind.
the most versatile jacket....
I've been waiting a long time for a women's black XXL Squamish hoody. My original dark grey XL Squamish hoody fits over a tee, and is a perfect running jacket, but my new XXL fits over a tee and a fleece, so I can wear it pretty much 4 seasons----and it's ideal for traveling. The only con between the 2 is no adjustable tabs with velcro on the wrists. As for comfort, the extremely breathable fabric is incredibly lightweight and suitable for those misty days. I can't forget to mention excellent craftsmanship. I wanted a roomier jacket ( 5 ' 8" 176 lbs ) with a longer length, and the larger size fits the bill. FYI- it's slightly fitted, measuring 24 in across the chest laying flat. Also, the hood is adjustable and a better fit. I should have it forever!
The updated Squamish feels like a different one
I am a bit disappointed with the updated model. To me, it feels much more like a windbreaker than the Squamish I was used to. While the product description does mention the changes, I didn’t expect the jacket to feel so different. It is advertised as being “breathable“, but I have some doubts about how comfortable it would be on warmer days. Personally, I wish the previous version of the Squamish were still “available”. I would have preferred Arc’teryx to introduce a new model name for this updated version as it feels like a different product. Because it now resembles a windbreaker more closely, I also find that the white colour doesn’t look as good on me as I had hoped. My first impression was that it looked somewhat like a white plastic bag—not meant as an insult, I promise — just an honest reflection of how it appeared to me. That being said, the sizing feels true to size, and I found the fit to be accurate.
Never leave home without it
The Squamish Hoody is easily one of my most worn items across seasons. In the summer it's excellent for hiking and running and in the winter it's amazing for touring. Never leave home without it.
nice color
very nice color. still too cold to wear it. not stretchable. i had other colors in this style and don't feel it be very breathable in hot summer on the move. Tends to last long though.
no side or onseam pocket
Understood this jacket is for climbing. But even a climber will be walking around run errands. Lack of side/on seam pocket is not a good taste in garment design.
