Very smooth shoe. Suits my heel-to-toe roll comfortably. Is well-suited to long, rhythmic walks extending over long distances. Gait feels fluid rather than directed (vs. GEL-SONOMA 8). The fit is snug yet accommodating, with an ideally shaped toe box that mirrors the mt GTX. The GEL compresses more under load than the Sonoma 8, producing greater vertical heel movement, which can feel softer but less controlled. For this reason I suggest a low profile third-party insole, if swapping out the stock insoles is your style. Short lace length and fabric-based eyelets encourage tension distribution and over-tightening risks collapsing the lacing system. I bought these as the summer counterparts to my winter MT GTX walking shoes. Very satisfied with how they're performing thus far, and I hope to extend distance once the weather warms. Very easy to recommend. Another great shoe from ASICS.
