Brooks  Glycerin 23 Road-Running Shoes - Men's

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Brooks shoe guide tool to choose this shoe. The cushioning and fit are excellent, and the laces stay put without loosening. I walk a mile the gym to workout and then walk home. I have flat feet and pronate, and found that possibly because of the taller profile of this shoe (due to the deeper cushioning), I am still pronating slightly, therefore I am going to experiment with a different insole for more arch support. Also, if you walk in reduced daylight conditions, take note that the only reflective tab on this shoe is at the back, with no reflective details on the side or front.

I think my 11th pair of this model and the best yet by far. 88km in the first week is a fair road test I’m looking forward to my next pair as have a 200km run around Bali in 6 weeks and only fair to share the load between 2 pair! Straight out of the box, the Glycerin 23 feels premium. The upper is soft, breathable, and wraps the foot in a way that’s secure without being restrictive. It’s the kind of shoe you can slip on and immediately trust for a long run. Lacing system is spot on so you can loop de look and knock out a runners knot easy. Today I get my third pair delivered ( I’ll need to change regularly running 200k) and have every confidence they’ll do the job brilliantly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed some very high quality shoes for walking and light hiking for a 3 week trip to Europe. Tried on standard and max versions of the Ghosts, Adrenalines, Rebel 8 and all 3 styles of Glycerin, and knew the instant I slid my feet into standard Glycerin that they were the best for me. Footbed feels supportive, the right amount of cushion under the heel is the right amount of squish and spring , the upper hugs my slightly wide feet just right and the lacing of the tongue feels comfy. Have walked miles and miles and miles straight out if the box with no foot pain or fatigue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It doesn't get better than this, I'll wear them full-time by far the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. There's no impact on the heel of your foot and the other thing I noticed was compared to the older version of the 22s this has more stability side-by-side. I didn't look for that when buying a shoe however a senior I noticed immediately I felt more secure. I love working with the company. I've had many shoes. I wish they had more the models that are just in black rather than all the colors, but they are a great company to work for if you're not happy there no questions ask, just buy and believe me you'll be happy with the 23s.

Yeah, they are awesome. 51 years old, running since I was 14( Competitive XC, decades of mountain trails, and blah pavement). I have more 'hardware' in my body than I would like to admit and write about (remember mountains, pavement and water have zero emotions or concern about the body). I recently picked up a limited edition color way, its killer. What's with the price? Really... I have had 2 pairs of ghost and do not care for the fit, but that's me. The Glycerin is my favorite shoe, I have a pair of On (pssssfffft, they suck), asics keyano's that are decent, but these are my go to. The price is getting hard to stomach.

The primary purpose for purchasing this running shoe was to alleviate the pain in my right heel. Mission accomplished. With every run, the pain is gradually going away. My feet and legs feel good after long maintenance runs, so they have plenty of impact cushion as you rack up the miles. You will definitely notice the "float/cushion" if you have been running in a feel/speed shoe. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, thanks to its reduction of my heel pain. Question: Why can't wide sizes come in cool running colors? Would have liked something more colorful to run around in. Shoe evaluations to note. 1. A more breathable design or material would be nice to keep heat retention down. 2. Does not have a gusseted tongue. At this price, it should be a standard feature. Speaking of the tongue, it is thick, so if you need padding on top of your foot, this might be a good feature for you but I found it adds to heat retention and less breathability. 3. Shoe laces are on the short side, which makes doing a runner's knot challenging. 4. SIZE RUNS SMALL. I'm a solid 8.5 across almost all footwear, but I had to return my first purchase to go up a half size. 5. Wide width is narrow compared to other footwear. 6. The heel-to-toe drop shifted how my toes impact the surface and has caused some nail bruising. PERFORMANCE NOTES: 1. A solid everyday maintenance cruiser. 2. Float. If you need it, this one has it, but there are drawbacks to be aware of. 3. Lack of surface contact feel makes uneven ground a bit more challenging. 4. I noticed pace speeds faster than 8.2; there is a loss of foot surface control due to float/cushion, and at 6.5, things get wobbly. 5. Stride length might increase due to bounce/cushion. 6. You will see an increase in your vertical ratio and oscillation if you track those details due to float/cushion. 7. You will see an increase in step speed loss and percent due to float/cushion. 8. On longer runs, you might have more fatigue and less stamina due to running less efficiently because of notes in 6 & 7.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve owned more than 10 pairs of Brooks running shoes, including the Glycerin 21, 22, and now 23. Until this latest version, I had been a loyal Brooks customer and consistently recommended their shoes. After about two months of light use, the Glycerin 23 leaves my feet and legs noticeably fatigued and achy by the end of the day. This isn’t normal tiredness—it’s a persistent discomfort that I never experienced with previous Glycerin models. I’m not sure what changed between the 22 and 23, but the difference has been significant enough that I can no longer recommend the Glycerin line based on my experience with the 23.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall a pretty decent shoe. Feels a little heavy and inflexible overall but I’m hoping it changes as I break them in. The design feels a little outdated and quite chunky which I don’t really like but it is comfortable enough for quick little runs if I wanted to use them for that. I think this is a good option for someone just looking for walking shoes or shoes that might last a good amount of time but I wouldn’t really incorporate them into my training. In summary, good shoes but stiff and heavy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very disappointed in this pair of shoes, I've had these less than a month and chunks of the sole are falling off and they are not comfortable at all, maybe I just got a bad pair, returning these today and will try again. My Glycerin 21s were the best, still have them. I bought these because of the quality and comfort of the 21s
