Brooks  Ghost Trail-Running Shoes - Men's

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In short, these are great shoes for their intended purpose (trail running). The amount of cushioning and responsiveness are perfect. The fit and feel are just like my Ghosts and Ghost Max. I’ll continue using them for trail runs and day hikes. I’ll also take them on vacations/trips with mixed surfaces when I only want to bring one pair of shoes. They are very versatile as walking and everyday shoes. For running, I’d recommend them when the run is at least 80% trail/dirt/DG/grass due to the added weight that comes with increased traction and more durable materials.

I am a size 12 in all other brands; however, from my last experience (toes squishing) with the Ghost 16 size 12 2E, I chose the 12.5 2E in the Ghost Trail. There is a minor heel slip that I intend to resolve with a tighter lace-up before walks/hiking. I encourage Brooks to revisit the Ghost 11 size 12 2E. It is the shoe that got me hooked on the brand and is the most comfortable I ever had. The later editions seem to run small. If I can buy a new pair of Ghost 11 size 12 2E, I will buy one today! All in all, I recommend the Ghost Trail to everyone looking for a strong, comfortable, well-built pair of sneakers.

The inside pieces where the shoe laces go is plastic/harder fabric instead of the typical cloth it's been for Ghost. If the tongue moves out of place in the slightest it ends up rubbing on my upper foot. It created wound through my shoes that scabbed. For how much they are charging for these shoes, Brooks should be creating better shoes with each model change not worse.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually run a mix of compacted dirt and gravel trails. The Ghost line has always served me well and performed fine on my terrain, but I couldn't help but be curious about a more appropriate shoe so when the Ghost Trail released, it felt like a natural fit. Shoe feels very nice and a bit softer than my standard Ghost shoes albeit heavier some. Not nearly as aggressive as my Catamount 4s which I like for almost everywhere I can run in my area.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was ecstatic when I first saw Brooks was releasing a Ghost Trail!!! With both the Ghost and Ghost Max having an extra wide(4E) option, finally there will be a trail shoe for us extra wide footers. NOPE...only to be disappointed, again, that the widest trail shoe Brooks continues to make is wide(2E). Why Brooks, does the Ghost Trail not follow the width options of other Ghost models? Extra wide(4E) should be an option. I see it asked for all over social media yet shoemakers, other than Asics Gel-Venture(which is more of a trail walking shoe imo), ignore us extra wide footers. Make it make sense why the Ghost and Ghost Max offer 4E but the Trail does not?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shoe is great! It’s very lightweight but feels sturdy and well-made. It has excellent cushion and support. At first, I thought the cushion would be too much but running on trails was pretty amazing. I don’t feel sticks or rocks hardly at all. Pavement running was a breeze. The shape of the bottom is great for me as I am a mid-foot contact to toe runner. The shoe almost propels me forward with minimal effort. The material is breathable and keeps my feet cool on my morning runs. The size was spot on for length and the width was great for my slightly wide foot. The only slight downside to this shoe is that it feels pretty tall and slightly unstable. I have loose ankles so I’m cautious about rolling them but I haven’t an issue so far. Other than that, these shoes are solid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for a good alternative to multisurface running trail shoes and these hit the mark! They transition great from trail to road and back again. I was skeptical of the large heel padding at first, but it doesn't catch on rocks or roots and makes for an easy and comfortable run even on rough terrain. And while they grip great on mud and slippery rocks, it doesn't feel like running in golf shoes while on the roads. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by these and have been wearing them every other day of running. They are also comfortable for house wear or yard work if you're not into trail or ultrarunning.

Very comfortable, just not very serious. As with any Brooks, I was able to put these on right out of the box and do 8 miles in the woods with no repercussions for my feet. A very comfortable shoe. But that's it. I don't see how this is even considered a "trail" shoe at all. It's a running shoe. This shoe replaced the Divide, which was far and away the best value (especially the GTX version) in Brook's lineup, and it's nothing like the Divide, which could be considered a good trail shoe. If they come out with a GTX version of this shoe, and it's under a buck fifty, I would try it. Otherwise, nope.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wearing Brooks Ghosts and Cascadias for years and loved them! I’ve bought pairs for friends families and my partner over the years. So I was pumped to know there was a Ghost hybrid shoe. That being said this is the first time I’ve had an issue with Brooks The tongue of my shoes came with loose threads. And because it isn’t gusseted it moves around and the points where the laces go through are rough and dig into the top of my feet. I even ripped a pair of expensive darn tough socks taking them off!! Which has never once happened in my life. The shoes are significantly thinner, clunkier and loose in the heals. I can’t even wear them walking around town. Unfortunately I ordered these shoes and brought them when I moved out of the country and now that I have put some miles on them I can’t return them. Bummer! Because I love Brooks but these shoes are a swing and a miss.

I bought these shoes and just love them. Was a Merrell guy but the lady said that these shoes just for walking might work for you, tried them on walked around for a while and love these.
