Starting to rust on the inside
I bought this for my husband less than a year ago and it’s starting to rust on the inside and the bottom of the outside is starting to discolor. He uses it everyday and we wash it out after the end of each day. We’re both huge fans of Yeti products and own several ramblers so this is very disappointing.
YETI stainless products are rust-resistant but not rust-proof. Rusting or staining can happen on occasion. Check out our Rambler FAQ page for some info and tips on removal:<br /><br />https://bit.ly/2AVlPwP <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/yeti_brand.jpg" alt="yeti_brand" title="yeti_brand" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" /> <!--[if ReviewResponse]><![endif]-->
Undestructable
I carry this with me every day on the fire truck and today it fell off going to a call going about 50mph and this is the damage to it still works perfectly no leaks
Stays cold, stays tough, stays ready
Got the 64 oz 3-finger capped jug and couldn’t be happier. Just to prove a point to my dad, I filled it with water, dropped a couple ice cubes in, and left it out in direct sunlight throughout our entire mid-summer bbq, only moving it to drink some or keep it in direct sunlight. When the sun went down, I gave my dad a drink and the look of astonishment was worth every penny. Also just took it on a west coast bike trip of ~15 total miles in my backpack and it was most welcome to have cold water for the whole ride and not have to force down room temp or hot water. It’s just a water jug, but it does it’s job better than any I’ve come across.
Great Idea ... not so great in application
I wanted to love this half gallon jug. Unfortunately, it just has some major flaws that are hard to get past when you actually use it. The seal gets to be so tight it can be a real pain to open and refill/clean/empty. The gaskets are the worst part. Once i finally open my jug the gaskets never seem to stay in place. This is true for the magnetic cap and the whole lid. The larger gasket continues to lose it's shape and not seat properly that I am fidgeting with it so it properly closes and doesn't spill. To recap: it's a pain to open & and a pain to close. If the stars align you may be able to actually get some usage out of this jug. Maybe next time.
Keeps cold water with ice cubes ice cold for Two d
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Half full of ice and fill with cold water and if I don’t drink it all today it’ll be just as cold tomorrow and still have ice in it. I’m a tractor trailer truck driver and found no other affordable way to have ice cold water with me all day. 12v coolers cool but won’t make things cold. Bring water from home with freezer packs in my insulated lunch bag got very heavy and left little room for food for my 14 hour shift. Purchasing on the road is too expensive. My tap water is from our well in Maine and is ice cold and tasted great. The container filled with water is heavy so I took the strap off an old gym bag and attached it to each side of the handle so I just throw it over my shoulder with my lunch bag and off I go for the day.
Sooooo COOL!!!!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an awesome jug!!!! So sleek and well designed - and built like a TANK! IMPRESSIVE!!!! This will last a lifetime and then some. I can see my kids using it with their kids someday! The magnetic cap is so genius. It's just well made and thoughtfully designed. I appreciate this so much. Can we talk about the insulation capabilities??? Ice stays in this for days and days! (I know this because forgot about it one time.) :-D This isn't that heavy, actually! The handle is so comfy I find it a pleasure to have so much capacity. This is perfect for sporting events, long drives and camping. I feel so spoiled having this amazing rambler!!!! Thanks!!!
I loved Yeti until I bought this
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Keeps things cold easy to carry and a neat magnet cap are all things that drew me in. The first time I filled my half gallon jug I thought man this is great. Now here is where this goes from good to bad. The thing is almost impossible to open. It is a joke on how hard it is to open this thing. I looked at a re-lace net lid just in case mine breaks because of how hard it is to open and the screw you there to it’s almost as much as the jug was. I have a ton of yeti stuff and this makes me want to stop buying their products all together and getting rid of what I have. If there is a trick to opening this I would love to know it.
keeps ice in excess of 24 hrs
Have only had the ½ Gallon Jug for several days but I really like how it holds ice in excess of 24 hours with very little melting. This prompted me to get the 30 oz. tumbler thinking it would be like the ½ Gallon Jug as far as very little ice melting. Boy was I wrong. I would have never purchased the ½ Gallon Jug if I had purchased the 30 oz. Tumbler first. The only down side with the ½ Gal Jug is the price, way over priced. It would also be nice if there was an optional replacement top cap with a hole to accommodate the use of a large 3/8" dia. straw. With the magnet cap, the original be stored when not in use on the top cover
Great product, but lid stuck
I am a police officer so I wear a lot of gear and I’m in and out of the elements during my tour. I purchased this product so I could start hydrated and cool. I filled this rambler with ice water and set out on my patrol. I get out of my cruiser to process a crime scene and left my rambler in the hot car for an hour and a half. When I attempt to open the rambler later on I can’t get the lid off. It’s been about 2 weeks and I have tried everything. I’m super frustrated and at my end. Great product, keeps cold and I love the magnetic top holder, but it’s no good if you can’t twist the top open to use the thing. Please help! Thanks
Where has this been all my life?!
I was looking for a non-plastic container to take vitamix green smoothies to work. I wasn't expecting the amazing insulation and fantastic design of this 1/2 gallon container. I fill with near boiling water and 2 tea bags before leaving in the morning and get to enjoy steaming hot tea at my desk all day long (~7 hours). The ultra wide opening makes this extremely easy to clean, and I have not had any issues with leaking as long as the screw top lid is securely closed. Would be great if Yeti made a custom "cozy" for this to protect the body from dents when travelling with it. I'm going to ask my mom to crochet one for me.
