Great for carrying essentials under a jacket
This was the bag I didn't realize I was looking for. It's about 2 and half times larger than a passport pouch and flatter than a cross body bag. It fits comfortably under a light jacket, loose fitting shirt, or windbreaker. It's big enough for two extras I always carry; a small battery pack to recharge my phone while out and a coin wallet. It's a great alternative to the smallish backpack I used to carry and is more discreet and less bulky.
The Bag Comes up Short
While quality from Patagonia is unequaled, this bag falls short from a simple design short coming. It has no pocket on the back of the bag. The perfect place for a phone, passport, airline ticket or any other like item. A simple design addition really limits the functionality of the bag.
Get a three ring binder pouch instead !
Saw this “cross body bag” in the store . It’s a shame that companies can make a binder pouch, attach a string to it and call it a cross body bag. ( the pencil pouch middle schooler would use which attaches to binder / folder) Nothing against Patagonia . They make wonderful products but this one is a stretch. The string makes it easy for pickpocketers to cut it off too. Save your money on this one.
Small but mighty!
Loving this little pouch! It's simple, and some of the negative reviews did make me laugh (Five Star pencil pouch--I see you), but this is really a great every day bag. I normally carry a vintage Coach bag, and I wanted to give my shoulder a break and lighten my load. This does the job! Comfortable and small, but fits more than you'd expect. I bought it on sale--I wouldn't pay full price for this one.
