My go-to shoe!
I've had these sandals for 2 months now and can honestly say these were worth every penny! I wear them the majority of the time and they're so versatile--dressy enough for sundresses, perfect for short hikes, great for wearing in the river or lake. They definitely meet all my needs and are so comfortable! I normally wear size 8-9 regular width shoes but the 8 regular I tried in store was too narrow. The associate suggested a 7 wide and it fits perfectly! My only complaint is that the toe straps seem to tighten up over time so I have to adjust the straps often, which is not always easy to do. But overall, I'm so pleased with these and have recommended them to several people!
Love the support!
These were my first pair of Chaco's. I will have to say, I like the support of the shoe. I'm a teacher and wore them for a day long event helping with Special Olympics and then standing on my feet for standardized testing. They were great! The only downside for me were the dual straps. I like the delicate look of smaller straps, but they are a little tricky to adjust to make them feel "just right". My daughter had warned me, but I opted for dual instead of single for looks. I'm sure a single strap would be easier, but with some help from my daughter on adjusting them, I'm beginning to get them "just right" for me.
Chaco sandal
I do like these sandals and had the experience of trying them on in the store - and ordered online to get the wide size. The REI person walked me through how to make the adjustments to the sandal of which I am thankful. Had he not gone over the trick to adjust the many straps I would have struggled more. Having said that I still think I had the straps on too tight initially because I had several blisters on the big toe area. I made the adjustments even looser and now I am enjoying the sandal a bunch. I love the 'look' of the sandal. They are going to be a great sandal and they appear to be well constructed.
Well Tested!
I purchased these for a fishing/kayaking/hiking/mountain biking/all of the things vacation. The first night, it rained, and i mean, REALLY rained. These were perfect and comfortable no mater how many inches fell (it was a lot.) For the rest of the week they were my comfy, camp shoes and they did NOT disappoint. I typically wear a 6.5 and decided to go with the 7; after wearing around the house a bit I realized a 7Wide might be a better fit. If you have any doubts, try the wide. They feel like slippers, they're amazing. I got them with a coupon but after what I've been through with them, I would definitely pay full price (ps, the company itself is grade A too!)
Best sandals ever
I was a competitive swimmer my entire life, so I have worn a lot of sandals. These are the greatest sandals I have ever worn. I bought these for a trip to Hawaii. I wore them on the beach, around town, and on a hiking/kayak trip. The hike was about 3 miles total and was very muddy/slippery and I never once slipped in these shoes. They were perfect for going from kayak to hike to swimming in a waterfall because I never had to take them off or worry about slipping. They are also very versatile and cute. I am never going on vacation without chacos again!
Love the versatility
Plan to use for beach and hikes in Texas. The toe strap is great for walks but not beach. Too much left over strap material for narrow feet are only complaints but wear these all the time. Very comfortable
From Rivers to Hiking...
I had zero expectations but now love these shoes! I had been looking for a water-type shoe and considered Keens for a while, but glad I went with the Chacos. At first I was worried the arch was too high (even considering I already have a pretty high arch), but they turned out to be extremely comfortable. I suppose they could be uncomfortable for someone with flat feet. I wore them on a camping trip and was able do some long hikes with stream fishing and wading in the river in between. Great transition from water to hiking without worrying about getting rocks stuck in them. And now I have some lovely zebra stripe tan lines on my feet! :)
Love chacos
A few of my friends have chacos. At first I was skeptical about the price but after buying them, they're completely worth it. My feet are extremely flat and usually on hikes and just walking around, my feet are in pain. With these shoes, it took a bit to get used to because of the extra support but after a while, they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I went on a hike with them and 0 foot pain! I love these so much
PERFECT if the toe thing works for you!
I've had numerous pairs of sandals like this, but this was my first go using a double strap model and a big toe loop. I loved the look, and they were very comfortable. But! The toe thing, however, didn't work well for me. It takes a long time to get the sandals on, especially later in the day after I've been on my feet. So, I exchanged them for the toe-less option. I use these casually, hiking and when doing any sort of natural water type activity.
Blisters!!
This is season two for me with these shoes. I want to love them but I have now had three horrible experiences with them. I hoped they would be awesome for active outdoor adventures (water, hiking, etc.) but it seems that I get horrible blisters after 1-3hrs of hiking! I also notice they feel scratchy when I try to use them at the river/ocean. I'll admit that it could be that they are adjusted wrong but I have tried to play with the straps with little success. In fact, trying to figure out the straps was whole entire other struggle (and that was even after I had received a demonstration). These just might not be for me, unfortunately. I REALLY wanted to be a believer in the legendary Chaco.
