Surgery has delayed my actually camping in this for a couple of months, but I took the time to set it up to make sure I had all the parts and knew how they went together. Super simple setup, enabled by color coded tabs/grommets - easy to tell the back from the front for the footprint, tent, and rainfly. Two exits for easy access. Generous vestibule. This replaces my last Big Agnes tent that did a lot of service over a six year period. About the same size, so I fully expect it to be comfortable. Lightweight and easier to pack than the old tent. If I get the same wear out of this one as the last one, I'll be a "happy camper:" Looking forward to my first camp with this one!
3 stars for the structure and it staying dry in a thunderstorm. 2 stars for everything else... I was quite disappointed with this tent when I purchased it, in the photo is shows your typical black mesh screen but when I received the tent it was this terrible thick white mesh that reduced visibility by nearly 75% it also gave off a terrible sparkley shine when the Sun hits it which makes it even harder to see through the screen. I really wanted to like this tent because the size is perfect and the large vestibule is something I have always been looking for in a tent. The colors are okay,(I'm picky about colors) the floor is crazy bright I would have prefered a more gold tone to match with the burgundy. With that being said, the tent gives a very cold feeling while inside of it with all of the white and the white mesh covers basically any burgundy that would show through. It is incredibly strange at night with a light on as all of the white mesh shines and glimmers it feels as if the tent is covered with a pair of tights. the quality of the tent seems sturdy and trustworthy as usual for an big agnes tent. Hopefully the next model they will get it right. If these things I've listed dont bother you then I am sure you would like the tent, as for the structure itself is an amazing design.
The floor is too susceptible to tearing. I ALWAYS use a heavy duty ground cover under the tent floor and another over the tent floor. No dirt has ever touched the bottom and no shoe has ever touched the floor. Yet after just one year of use, there are many tears (at least 8) of this clean and new looking tent floor.
