Perfect on Gravel Bike!

Put this cassette on my gravel bike with 105 R7000 2x crankset and long cage rear derailleur. It works perfectly! No need to kill yourself to be 300th place on Strava, just have fun and ride!

Switching to a 1 by 11

Switching to 1 By 11 was something I have done with all my bikes to declutter my handlebar. I have been mountain biking since 1983 and have always found Shimano to provide excellent crisp shifting. Shimano has trickled down the quality of XTR to XT and SLX at more affordable price. XTR is lighter but the XT provides the shifting performance I desire.

Shimano XT is Always Good

Needed a little more bottom-end for the steep stuff so I went with the 11-46 cassette (using a 34 tooth chainring). The only gripe is Shimano refuses to make a 10-tooth cassette, so the top speed is a little compromised. Apparently there are some engineering compromises to the hub (?) that go with 10-tooth ...but Sram seems to get away with it. If Sram was compatible with my existing hubs (it's not) I would have bought Sram.
