Really love the style of all Kuhl's products, which is what drew me to this item. These pants are kind of like canvas, but quick dry, and in-between light weight and mid weight. The styling is excellent. My wife couldn't tell that they were zip-off pants, which she is not a fan (actually, she hates them). The fit is great, but runs a little small: my waist is in between 32-33 and I ordered and wear size 34 with a belt. Not too loose, but not tight at all. Pockets are great, with plenty of room for all your stuff for hiking. Zippers are high quality: fly zipper is rugged, and the zippers for the pant legs are well made (a little hard to put back on, but not a big deal). Highly recommended.
I really like the Kuhl product however between their website and the REI product information you cannot tell which fit you are purchasing. REI site does not mention whether it is the Classic or full fit. (There is another optional fit) The Kuhl site did not seem to have the same names of the product, i.e. renegade.
Bought these for a hike in New Hampshire's White Mountains. They're stretchy and cut well so did not restrict my freedom of movement. They were warm enough in high wind with drizzle on ridges above tree line. When temperatures dropped to near freezing, these pants went over long underwear without any noticeable friction. Coming down in warmer weather, convertible zippers worked well and shorts were very comfortable. I cannot speak to long-term durability, but I'm very optimistic. Definitely recommended.
purchased this for upcoming travel; have owned several brands of zip off pants and like the concept but often not a very good looking option if wearing in public - usually better for woods and wilderness; these pants are the best looking version of zip off's I have seen so that they could be worn in town as well as on the trail or wilderness and still look good. zipper on legs very subtle and not covered by large flaps, etc - work as comfortable, good looking casual pants. seem well made, sturdy, and a good fabric as well.
I purchased these 6 weeks ago and love how comfortable they are. These are high quality, durable hiking pants. You cannot go wrong with these pants.
I bought a pair and had for two weeks, loved them so much I bought another pair. Durable and well fitted, these pants are great.
