Why did they change the sizing so much??!!
I have owned two of these jackets over the years and loved them for their lightness, versatility and durability. I got the sleeves on my latest one all greased up and decided to buy a new one. Both the previous jackets were size Medium and fit me great. I read the recent reviews saying they'd changed the sizing and it was more snug now, so I ordered a Large this time instead -- and it's still too small! Body is OK but so snug around the waist that I can't ride comfortably. (And I haven't gained weight.) Returning it and will look for another brand since an XL would swim on me. So frustrating since I've enjoyed this item immensely over the years and now can't have it. Does Pearl Izumi think every rider is a Euro-skinny Tour contestant?? Come on, don't mess up something that's already great.
Beware: Izumi sizes run small
I normally wear Medium (jacket size 38, waist ~31). According to their size chart, I should order a Medium. Not true. Their Medium is about 2 sizes too small. I went to the REI store and tried on the Large and it barely fits. The arm holes are too small even for the Large. And for the XL, it's too loose. I guess this isn't going to fit me well, so I returned it. Thanks to REI review policy.
Nice but flawed
Excellent construction BUT it runs about two whole sizes SMALL, very odd. Ordered an XL, I normally wear a LARGE, this puppy is two sizes smaller, tag says XL, maybe for a five year old
nicely put together
Great jacket but I'm a size M in women's and the mens XL fit, could have been bigger too.
Sizing is no problem!
Got this jacket a week or two ago. I’m really confused as to the complaints about sizing— I wear a 38 jacket, which means I should get a medium, so I did, and it fits like a glove (for reference, I am 6’ and 170 lbs). ANYWAY I think it looks cool, it’s lightweight but still blocks wind; I just wish it handled rain a little better— was in fairly light rain and it definitely made it through after about 45 minutes. Still though; nice jacket, and worth it now that it’s marked down!
Great Cycling Jacket
Light weight. Form fitting. Easy to remove sleeves to convert to vest. Rear and 2 side pockets. Hi viz colors. Sleeves and attached cape easy to reattach. Easily stowable in cycling jersey rear pocket.
Good lightweight windbreaker - but sizing runs sma
Many have written about these running smaller than the indicated size. I would agree. Based upon the reviews I ordered a large. For reference I'm 5'9", 190lbs, 40" chest, 34" waist. The jacket fits comfortably for riding without any excess material flapping in the breeze. I certainly wouldn't want to be any larger than I am as I don't think it would be comfortable.
As advertised
This jacket is very versatile and great for the price. Obviously not waterproof but does well unless heavy downpour.
Mountain riding
Does great at keeping the wind at bay, and helps in mountain riding such as side of Pikes Peak.
Awesome jacket
With or without the sleeves, comfortable and colorful for safety reasons. Great jacket!
