Love the stretchy waistband and the breathable fabric. The pockets aren't as big as I was hoping for, but they're functional. My only major complaint is that these aren't really convertible pants. The drawstring that cinches the pants to be capris isn't really functional at all and looks silly as it only cinches the outside of the pants so they don't raise evenly. However, these are one of the only pairs of pants that I've tried that seem to take into account that hiking pants ought to account for larger thighs! They fit will in the hips without having to size ridiculously far up; I could wear my usual size in these pants with no problem.
Finally, a durable, comfortable and flattering pants that fit! I am a size 8. I have muscular thighs and a smallish waist; this makes it hard for me to find pants, especially is this era of "skinny jeans" cuts. These pants met all my requirements: they are durable for multi-day back country trips. They are water repellant/quick drying for our Washington weather. They have plenty of convenient pockets. The waist is fitted; they have plenty of belt loops AND a drawstring waist... all this, plus they are "Pajama" comfortable! These pants are thin, more of a summer weight (at least here in WA) but I wore them up into Mt. Rainier's snow fields in May...and I was plenty warm. I'll definitely buy several more pair of these!
Like one of the other reviewers, I also got these for a three-day backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. I wore them every day of the trip, and they looked and felt great the entire time. We were there in March, and the pants were just as perfect for the warm days as they were for the cool mornings and nights. They are very comfortable pants; I found it easy to move and be active in them. Now that we're back from our trip, I wear them pretty much every weekend for hiking, dog walks in the woods, hanging out, and running errands around town. For cooler weather, which we have a lot of in Michigan, I just slip 'em on over a pair of long johns. I love everything about these pants!
Did I say I love these pants? I had been looking for a pair of hiking pants that were a little more feminine then the ones that you usually find. I found them in these pants. I wore them on a 3 day backpacking trip down the Grand Canyon and they were perfect. I never took them off, yes I even slept in them. They never lost their shape and didn't stretch out or become baggy like some I have tried in the past. They are so comfortable that I will probably wear them more often then just on the trail.
I bought these pants two weeks ago and I wish I'd bought two pairs because they are great for everyday wear. They are super comfortable, lightweight, and flattering. I like to wear them with the side seams cinched, but they look great either way.
Bought these pants for a trip out West to hike. Wore them every day for a week with a wash and quick dry. Am ready to purchase another pair as they are so comfortable for those of us who have issues with waist gaps. These fit perfectly with plenty of stretch. I fell on a muddy trail and made a 4 point landing. Just brushed the mud off after it dried. Nice attractive look.
I had a hard time finding maternity pants I could hike in for my trip to Glacier National Park. I tried these on and they worked great. The waistband is stretchy and holds up well without feeling tight. I didn't even need to wear a Bella band. I felt they were a little warm on the warm days when the temperatures climbed into the 90s, but the ability to switch them into capris hepled. However, the cord strings (to convert to capris) kept falling down and didn't hold up as well as I would like. I usually wear a petite size (I'm 5'2") but the store only had the regular length, which worked out fine with tennis shoes on. The length was not overly long. The pants are comfy, similar to wearing pajamas and they are not baggy. I would wear these pants to work and around town. I'm 6 months pregnant with a medium size belly so this worked out really well. I bought two sizes up from my pre-pregnancy size.
I am 5'9", 170, pear shaped. I love Kuhl pants. Pockets: Very shallow. My iphone6 is too tall for every pocket, but almost fits into the back pockets. Pockets are tight against your body, so everything (chapstick, wad of bills, coughdrop, etc) would show. 0/5 Inseam: Too short. I wear a tall in all pants. I have two pair Kuhl splash rollup regular length: they are not quite long enough. I dried one pair and they became officially too short - these durangos are that shrunken length. 0/5 The bottom draw cord is useless. Raises the outside of leg, not inside. And sags. 0/5 Waistband: amazing - I have a smaller waist and the stretching band prevents the gap. No need to keep tugging waist up. 5/5 Material: not too thin - doesn't show every dimple in my thighs. Perfect amount of stretch for any type of outdoor work. 4/5 They are very comfy, true to size, I bought a 12. They are pretty flattering. 4/5
I've owned these pants for four years now and they are still going strong. I've hiked the JMT, gone on shorter backpacking trips, climbed and scrambled in them, backpacked across SE Asia and worn them for tons of times hiking and adventuring. They are still in amazing shape - the black color is a little faded but no scuffs, tears or tattered hems. They are the comfiest pants I own and I'm awed how well they have stood the test of time and terrain. I've worn them multiple days on end, and they hide dirt well too. They fit like a glove (not too tight and not too baggy) and look nice enough to wear around town. They are a bit warm in hot weather but the pant legs roll up and stay up if you need to cool down. LOVE THESE PANTS!
I found these to be a bit short in the rise and running small. I usually wear size 8, but I was more comfortable in the 10. But the 10 was too long and sloppy looking at the bottom.
