These socks are good for the shorter hikes where you don't need a heavier sock. They kept my feet warm & dry, with no bunching in my hikers.
Bought these socks a year ago and they are great. Keep my feet dry and cool in hotter temperatures. I will be buying more of these.
I bought two pair of these about 10 months ago and they are the best everyday socks that I've found... yep, I've been using them as my everyday work socks, as well as for short (6 miles or less) hikes. They are comfortable and have held up very well.
I purchased these initially because they don't have extra padding and ribbing and because they are thin. For whatever reason I rarely have "cold feet" quite the opposite. So I've bought a couple more pair and wear them quite a bit. The jury is still out on the way they'll wear but so far they have been very comfortable.
I usually wear these for everyday use and they are the most comfortable socks I've ever owned. I put them on and it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing socks. I've also used them for shorter hikes and they have been fine. I haven't had them long enough to know how long they will last, but I bought a couple of pair when they were on sale just in case.
I have been purchasing these socks for a few years. I like the weight of them for everyday use and for summer light weight hiking. They offer no padding but are extremely comfortable in my work and dress shoes and they breathe extremely well in warm weather. The thing that I don't like about them is that they wear very quickly. I have had a few pair that have lasted only a couple of months. I keep buying them because I have not found an alternative that is this light weight and breathes this well.
Being new to hiking, I was hesitant when someone recommended that I purchase "wool" socks. To my dismay, these socks remained dry all day and added a tremendous amount of cushion in my boots. I would certainly recommend these socks to anyone.
I've only had a chance to wear these once so far. They are light weight, which is exactly what I wanted. They fit perfectly on my 9.5 foot. They're comfortable, and keep my foot dry. They are better for warm weather than the light weight sock. The only reason I have then 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. I guess since you get what you pay for, O shouldn't complain. The are well made, and seem like they'll last a long time. The color selection was small, but they do look nice.
These have been the best socks I have ever worn. I don't just wear them for hiking, I wear them for everyday. I'm a recently retired U.S. Marine, (infantry) and know the importance of taking of your feet. I only wish I knew about these socks while I was active duty because they are great quality, fit and support by their design.
Bought these with hiking shoes on the strong recommendation of Becky, the REI associate that helped me. These are the ONLY socks I've ever used that truly keep my feet dry, even after tons of walking all day. I'm 65, wish I'd known about merino wool socks before. I've ordered several more pairs to use everyday.
