Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shuttle Vehicle: '15 Subaru Forester XT Touring Add two more bikes to an already perfect bike rack. Since I have a long history of using Yakima products I did not have issues with securing the additional components. Over the years I've easily found matching SKS lock cores, keys and lock housing for around $5 an item. I already had every bit and piece right when I opened the box. Turned my '15 Forester XT into the shuttle vehicle [Two Thumbs Up]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Extension for Hitch Mount Rack I bought this to extend my 2 bike rack into a 4 bike one. It was easy to assemble. You can manage the weight of the extension better by inserting it into the first rack after the first is on the hitch. I liked the flag mount and two battery lights included with the extension. Mounting the bikes is very easy and secure. I can use the extension only when I need it. This product is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the upgrade ! Worth the upgrade to the Yakima HoldUp 2" Easy Install , everything is included SKS keys & locks. One drawback in my opinion hitch lock to the HoldUp 2 is just a security bolt that incorporates additional purchase. Can by bypass by using the locks on the HoldUp 2 intsead { When not using } Instead of spending another 50.00 for the same key set.

Will it work for a fat bike

Asked by: Matt oneill
This rack extension will carry 26, 27.5 and 29r tires easily with a width up to 2.5 inches. It will not accommodate wider, fat bike tires.

How do you mount cruisers that have fenders?

Asked by: Brohein
A bike with fenders is not compatible with this hitch rack or the extension piece. The Yakima TwoTimer or FourTimer are better choices as they grab the top tube of the bike. https://www.rei.com/product/886879/yakima-twotimer-2-bike-hitch-rack https://www.rei.com/product/886880/yakima-fourtimer-4-bike-hitch-rack

Will this bike carrier support 3" tires on a 27.5+ MTB?  How does it support a high-end road bike?

Asked by: peterb5050
The HoldUp racks have a tray that accommodates up-to a 2.5 inch tire. The Hold-Up will work fine for a road bike.

How can you access the rear lift gate when rack is loaded? I see the rack tilts down, but is that enough to open the rear lift gate? How hard / heavy is it to lift the bikes back to the normal position?

Asked by: skoop123
For your specific fit and lift access concerns, please contact the manufacturer for details. There will be some effort necessary to lift the loaded rack from the tilted position to the upright position.
