Great, once you get the knack of it
I hated this rack the first time I used it because I pinched my fingers trying to get my small-frame bike around all the straps and protruding things. Then I had a brainstorm and removed all the straps. Putting the bike on the frame after that was a dream! I just used the straps needed for the bikes on the rack; the rest live inside my car until they will be needed. I love how the cradles can be adjusted along the arms of the rack to accommodate different-size bikes, and when strapped onto the rack, the bikes were very secure.

Consider another rack
My Thule was stolen off my car and I decided to try this Yakima. Big mistake. We use our bike rack daily dropping off and picking up kids. One of our bikes is a commuter Dahon. The straps do not fit across the top tube of this bike. They are too short by about 1". And Yakima doesn't make longer straps. I will probably return this for a Thule with rubber straps.

Awesome rack

I have put 3 bikes and looks very sturdy. The adjustable clamps are key for separation between the bikes. The clamps are excellent and a great design. The 4th bike will be a tight squeeze and the rack would be better a bit longer.

Amazing Rack and Price

I was looking at different brands and did some research before buying. I reside in a suburban area but sometimes drive through the city. I chose this over the other medium price rage ones because of the easy of installation and the integrated security cable and lock. I was worried about the fact that we have 4 bikes and some reviews stated it was hard to carry 4 bikes and this was not the case. We did a 6 hour road trip this summer with our 4 adult size bikes and they held perfectly.

5 stars on quality, 2 stars on design.

As much as I love the Yakima brand and its quality, this time it appears that QC forgot to test the straps before going to market. The plastic straps (think of U-shape) are felixible and once size only. The one size U-shape, unlike a simple old fashion fabric strap do not fit every frame. One of our bikes cross bar (mountain bike) does not fit as its diameter is just a tad bigger than the U-shape strap will allow. Unfortunately, I am forced to return and will try a Thule. Consider this issue before purchase.

Great Rack!

I read the reviews here before purchase and now that I own this piece of equipment there is far too much nitpicking..... this rack is the best deal going for the money. Easy, affordable and heavy duty.

OK but not great.

If you need rack for 4 bikes, this is ok, but we found it difficult to use the zip strips. The one that goes on the bike seat tube is very awkward to put in and out, and if narrow seat tube, bike sways. We exchanged it for a platform rack that we like much better

Works great!

The Yakima bike rack is great so far. Loading two, adult, straight bar, hybrid, bikes is easy. Three bike's are not a problem either. Four bike's, however, will be a challenge. The bike rack is easy to install and the two locking features are great for security. We have not had any problem's with ding's or scratches on the bikes either.

I loved this rack. I am using it for 4 bikes. I would recommend buying 5 or 6 bike rack for 4 bikes ... mountain bikes takes more space

Awesome product Yakima!

Another great Yakima product. Don't waste your time buying the 2-Bike Hitch Rack. This rack has more options...you can adjust spacing between bikes and has the option to secure your bikes with cable.

Great Bike Rack

The rack works great. Easy to install and use. This is my first bike rack that installs into a hitch. Previously owned racks worked with straps. Like this much better. I will admit it took me a few minutes to figure it out. Once I did it has been very easy. The rack is very sturdy, and the bikes are held securely. You can ignore any negative reviews regarding this rack.
