simple, solid, reliable, fun
It's heavy and slow, but it puts a smile on your face. I hooked it up with a "Wald giant delivery basket" and now I got myself a very cool old-school grocery-getter / beer-run bike that gets a lot of compliments and it's capable of taking my two 12lbs chiweenies for a ride. If you want to go fast on long rides get something else. And I wouldn't had bought this if I only could have one bike. But for the price, this makes a solid, reliable and maintenance-free 2nd (or 3rd) set of wheels.
Super fun to ride
After going through 4 bikes at a rental property these bikes were my last hope. I wanted something basic and these fit the bill. I purchased 2 of them (if they get through this summer I will get 2 more next summer). So far they are great. I love the way you sit straight up and they are very comfortable to ride on our paved bike trails. I love riding them and appreciate the fact when I push up a hill the bike gears are not slipping like our speed bikes were. I would definitely recommend them for casual riding.
It can definitely cruise....
It can definitely cruise.......but thats about it. But what else can you expect from a cruiser. It looks great....simple and stylish. Great for cruising the town and urban bike trails. Its a fixie and its heavy so you'll get a work out on the hills. I think its a great bike for what its meant for.......cruisin' :)
Great bike for the complete newbie!
I brought this home two weeks ago, because it's been years since I was on a bike, and I needed to get more activities into my life. I have ridden it an average of 5 miles a night for most nights since then. The Electra brand was recommended to me as one to look at by a bike-enthusiast friend of mine. He was absolutely right. Pros: Good starter bike. Well built, and has managed to keep me from falling off several times. Love the way the bike feels to ride; legs are comfortable, and smooth pedaling. I have back problems, but I'm never uncomfortable riding this bike. Cons: Just the one speed. Wish I'd sprung for the next bike up, but the single speed certainly gives you a workout. Coaster brakes.... I bought it because it had coaster brakes, but now realize that it's just second nature to use hand brakes (even though my last bike was owned 17 years prior). I miss the hand brakes. Still, for what it is, and what I paid for it, it's an excellent starter bike. In about a year, I'll be ready to upgrade.
Town cruising
Going with the idea that you can't own too many bikes, I bought this item for relaxed riding around the town. It serves the purpose nicely, very comfortable. REI even assembled it for me, nice.
Awesome bike
great bike for cruising. nice and slow, but puts a smile on your face when you ride it. for the price, you can't beat it.
Smooth Rider
My Electra One is the most comfortable bike I've ever owned
