Love this bike!!!
I've been riding this bike to whole foods and around the neighborhood every day. Great bike for cruising around your local area.
Love my townie
Love everything about my new Electra,I even dress up due to how good I feels and can easily ride 10 miles with no problems!
Making biking fun again
I bought my wife a Townie last year and she surprised me with my own! She loves hers and I had ridden hers and told her how comfortable I thought it was...... so now we're both enjoying these finely crafted cycles. If you don't ride a bike because they're too uncomfortable give the Townie a try and rediscover cycling!! The REI staff in Jacksonville are great and will fit you with the right bike and set it up.
Great all around bike
I have had my 7D for two and a half years now. Have had recumbent bikes, recumbent tadpoles, fat bikes, and a hybrid. This is the only one left. Upright position, gearing, Comfort, and the ability to mount racks and fenders make this the perfect bike. It’s been ridden on rail trails, the NY Canal trail, and on the road. Add bags and a trunk and it’s off to the market. Absolutely love this bike. Keeps this 67 year old guy riding.
Excellent ride
I purchased this on sale a week ago and have made two rides to and along the beach. I have a hybrid bike with 21 speeds which when you ride places a lot of pressure (I am 59 years old) on your wrists. This bike is an easier ride, just did 15 miles on the beach. Nice ride, more comfortable. You will not be disappointed. I bought the Khaki Green, and seemed to be a big hit. Enjoy! Keep moving!!
Fun to ride
I agree with the other review. I have had road bikes and mountain bikes. I wanted something comfortable and fun to ride around the neighborhood for exercise. This Electra Townie 7D is perfect. I live in Arizona so I have had some tube punctures. I have put in stronger tubes and Slime(?).
Expanding my riding hobby...
I’ve had many road bikes and mountain bikes, even a couple of beach cruisers but my new Townie is perfect for city and suburban riding. The upright position, comfortable saddle and smooth 7-speed drive train have made this bike a new favorite. The aluminum frame is light and the entire package makes this a pleasure for rides round town. Great fun and still providing a workout for serious cyclists who may decide to go fast.
Excellent bike
This is an excellent bike. I was starting to have back pain using my hybrid when commuting to work so I wanted to get a bike with a more upright sitting position. The Townie is great, its very comfortable, light weight, just not very good for going up hill. Otherwise, terrific. I bicycle 20 miles a day, to and from work, and it is perfect for that.
A relaxing way to bike
My wife and I purchased two new Towney bikes from REI in Bellingham. Great service from the bike department. I own a road bike and a mountain bike . The Towney is a different direction in biking. I seem to hear the song “Easy like Sunday morning” in my head while riding this bike. Nice seat, like riding in your easy chair! A word of caution though, not a great hill climber. You can’t stand on the pedals and climbing becomes more of a leg press. If you want a cruiser type bike , this is a great choice. Love it!
Comfortable bike to ride
I love the nice padded seat and the location of the handle bars. The pedals are out in front and help me be able to peddle without too much strain on my bad knees. This bike is a comfortable seven speed bike to ride and would highly recommend it.
