Irritating Design Flaw (Not Fatal)

Just bought these despite the warning about slippage. The leggings fit well and are warm, but unless the shorts they are under have a "grip strip", you'll experience slippage. This is due, in my view, to a manufacturing error. Note at the top of the leggings on the outside there are a series of Pearl Izumi logos. These are in fact made of a grippy material, and if they, or another such strip, had been placed on the INSIDE of the elastic band, the leggings might actually adhere to your skin. Therefore, don't order these unless you understand the limitation and use shorts/bibs with the appropriate legging design. Most P.I. stuff is designed better.

The Real Review !!!

I bought these to keep my legs toasty when the weather gets cold. So here is the deal; I have the kind with the warmest rating and they most definitely keep things warm and they really do look cool. On the down side, they slip down overtime while riding and slip down even faster while walking around, even after hiking them up as high as possible. I've put them over and under my cycling shorts and they still slip. If you don't mind stopping occasionally to pull them up then they will be great for you. They seem to be water resistant but not for a downpour; get rain gear for that. They are however, breathable. Really nice because as the temp. outside increases along with body heat, they can easily be removed to regulate body temp. If they didn't slip at all then this would be a 5 star product all the way! Ride on!!

Keeping Warm

Most of my training rides are along the Southern California coast line, where there is always a breeze. This winter we have had temperatures down in the high 40s and these leg warmers have been awesome. I am 5' 11" 200 lbs., bought large size and as long as I pull up high and put under my bibs I have not had a problem with slippage. It is nice to be able to take off to regulate your temperature. I wish I would have bought last winter. Ride on, warm!

Keeps me riding through cooler weather

I got these at the onset of fall when temperatures are about 40-60F, though I see them being comfortably warm through cooler temps as long as you're not on a constant no-pedal downhill for extended periods. The zippered ankles are awesome and I have no issues with the leggings moving around on me while riding. Anyone who is mildly OCD will love that the side-specific leggings are easily identifiable from left to right sides.

Solid product

I bought these thermal leg warmers about 2 months ago and have used them 8 times. They are light weight and are easy to put on. They kept my lower legs warm between 45 and 60 degrees while road biking. They breathe so heat & moisture escapes so you don't overheat. They do the job they are supposed to do. The only drawback is they tend to slip down my legs a little but not so much as to expose any flesh. I would recommend them for keeping your lower legs warm in cool temperatures.

Disappointing

I purchased these leg warmers for riding in the cooler temps. As other reviewers indicated there is constant slippage and it's because the elastic gripper is on the outside, rather than inside so it can grip to the skin. I've just purchased a different brand and the elastic grip is where it belongs and the inside and... NO SLIPPAGE!!! I've always had great success with Pearl Izumi, but not this time.

PI thermal leg warmers

I love how portable these leg warmers are. Provide good warmth at a moments notice and can be removed and stowed easily. Although they are not water proof have proved to be plenty warm on the 40 degree misty days.

Convenient

So far so good. Like the others stated, these warmers tend to slip. I use safety pins to keep them from falling. The pins are not too tacky but effective.

Warm good quality leg warmers

These were about five bucks more than the Novarra leg warmers, and I think they are worth it. They are warm and stay snug.

Great addition for layering on the go

These are great to throw in a pack or pannier for a long ride through elevation changes and weather changes.
