Excellent, comfortable saddle

My bike is a Salsa Casserole, configured like a road bike, and I use it for touring, day rides, commuting, errands, and hauling an accordion on my back - 22 lb. with its case. When you add 22 lb. to your body weight, a good saddle is important. I wore out an old Terry Liberator and at first replaced it with a Respiro, which is wider and softer, so it seemed like it should be more comfortable. It isn't. I also discarded the Salsa saddle that came on the bike. Finally got a new Terry, which is far superior and I recommend it.

Great Saddle

My Scott CR-1 came with a Scott saddle that just didn't do the job. I stiched to a Selle SMP. It was either too narrow or too soct or both. Then I switched to a Selle Max Flite Gel. We never came to terms. Finally, I tried the Liberator Y and, like Goldilocks' porridge, it was just right. Comfortable for long rides and hours in the saddle. A little wider than some and just the right firmness.

Comfortable for long distance rides

Wore out my Terry Liberator Y Gel and decided to try something else that was a little lighter. Tried 4 saddles that weren't bad, but I wasn't comfortable after 30-40 miles. Ended up going back to the Liberator Y Gel, and very happy. It is heavier than many saddles, but comfort trumps a few ounces.

Not a good option for a road bike!

I have a Raleigh Revinio 3.0 road bike and decided to purchase a more comfortable seat for a 50 mile ride we had planned in replacement of my stock seat. I chose the Terry Liberator Y Gel Saddle because of the 5 star rating. 5 miles into the ride, however, I realized I made a huge mistake. This may be a good seat for a hybrid or other bike if you ride in an up-right position but do not even consider it for a road bike.

Great Saddle

I am going to give Terry Liberator Men's Bicycle Saddle a plug. These came out many many many years ago ... but my male ego would not try one as it is a larger seat. My old seat was giving me fits on my MB last year and this. I purchased this and road with it today on my mountain bike. 4 Stars

Nice slim seat for commuting

This replaced an older gel seat with a nylon top - after a season or two the fabric had started to tear off and break down. The leather saddle shell seems to be very durable and should hold up better. The construction appears quite solid and well thought out - alignment marks are present on the rails to give you recommended limits on forward-back travel. The one downside is that the padding in this saddle is less than my old one so it's not as comfortable a ride as one might hope.

Finally

My husband and I can finally ride for hours on end without bruising our tailbones. This seat was worth every penny!

Comfortable saddle

Good saddle for long rides. The Liberator Y Gel has a smooth cover and does not chafe like the Liberator X, as is mentioned in reviews of that model. The Liberator Y Gel is not light but it is very comfortable and supportive on 100 mile rides and on rough roads. I have a Terry Fly and several other light weight saddles on other bikes step up for performance only. But for touring comfort rather than high performance, the Liberator Gel fits the bill.

Best one so far (3rd is the charm...)!

I do mountain biking over the weekends. Already tried an aftermarket saddle but was too narrow and padding was not thick enough. After 3 rides comfort level has increased substantially. Have not tried yet on very technical trails but don't see why it would not work well.
