Bling for your bike

I really wanted to love this saddle. First,I have had good luck with Terry products and trusted the brand. Second, it is so beautiful it is almost a shame you have to sit on it! Sadly, it was so hard I ached for hours after my ride...and I was on the gel version! To be fair, I ride a cruiser bike and all the weight is squarely on my sit bones. I could feel every bump in the road straight up my spine! I tried it on a quick 2 miler, a moderate 5, and a 13 to get myself used to it, and after the 10 mile mark I wanted desperately to be off the bike. Pity...such a beautiful, well made saddle!

Nice construction

It's a great saddle that I was first turned on to by the many fans at the adventure-cycling forums. It is solid, good looking, and well designed to support my body. While I ride the men's version, I recently purchased the women's version for a friend. One thing to note, as was mentioned in the other review here, it doesn't have a lot of padding. This seat was designed to be used with padded bicycle shorts and the saddle becomes uncomfortable on longer rides (although I have ridden 60+ miles without padded shorts on several occasions without any excessive pain). Terry does however make a *Gel* version of the same saddle for those looking for extra comfort or for those that don't desire to wear the padded bicycle shorts. Also of note, that the saddle is a bit narrower than standard. I found that after changing out my saddle, my inner thigh would hit the tail light assembly on my seat-post.

Plenty of padding, NOT!

Though the cutout in the middle relieves pressure, the sitting bones are not provided with enough padding. I find myself really uncomfortable coming home from a ride longer than 1&1/2 hours. Also, I noticed recently there is a crack down the side of the saddle. This bike stays in the garage when I am not riding so it is not due to the elements.
