Handy accessory
The plastic tray itself is 8 x 10" exclusive of the shelf with holes so will hold a few commonly used tools and small items. It's also handy for things like holding a stem face plate and bolts when changing a bar, a thru-axle having taken off a wheel, or project specific items like bar tape, finishing tape and scissors when taping a bar.
Park bike stand tray
After noticing that I was spreading my tools all over the shop when working on a bike, I realized I needed a tool tray. This tray now keeps my tools at hand. This tray works well for most tools, but could be improved. I do wish it had more tool storage. Some drivers do tilt sideway when placed vertical. I was slightly annoyed to learn I needed an adapter for my specific stand. That was an extra $15, but I don't think REI sells it.
Park Tools stuff is great!
It's great that REI carries stuff from Park Tools. Just wish they would stock the professional work stands. So much better than the home stands. Park Tools stuff stands up. But the home stands are junk.
Premium price for proprietary piece. Good quality.
Quality product, does what it needs to do well, however the cost is dubious. That said, given the alternatives, this does make the cost worth it.
