Exactly what I wanted

I am super paranoid about damaging sun exposure, but I often hate lathering up in suncreen. This product was exactly what I was looking for. I wear these for much more than cycling (I just wore them during a very sunny trip to the zoo). I have a significant amount of tattoo art covering both my arms, and even wearing sun screen I can still feel the sun heating up my ink. These sun sleeves prevent that from happening big time. I also work in a hospital where my tattoos need to be covered, and these allow me to do so without having to wear a long sleeved T-shirt under my scrubs, very cool and convenient. I love them, and will definitely be purchasing a few more pair.

Air Conditioners for Your Arms

Living in Texas we're always slathering on sunscreen and sweltering in the heat and humidity. My club rides 25-35 miles after work every Tuesday and Thursday, with longer rides (50-65 miles) on Saturdays, so we're out in the sun a lot. I bought these for their SPF protection, but discovered on my first ride that they act like air conditioners for my arms. Instead of the sweat evaporating instantly, these sun sleeves hold the moisture against my skin long enough for the evaporative effect to cool me off. Now I and several members of our club always ride with these sleeves. They're not hot when we stop for a break, either, due to their extremely lightweight construction. Buy them if you live in a hot climate. You won't regret it.

Work as advertised!

Surprised how well they work to not only keep the sun off your arms but to keep your arms cool as well. I wear these for cycling in the summer here in NJ and even on hot/humid days these are great. I start most of my long rides (50-90mi) in the early AM and the "air conditioning" action of these sun sleeves can actually be too cold sometimes - but I'll take that in exchange for keeping me un-burned and cool later in the ride when the sun heats up mid morning and into afternoon. Highly recommended.

Well made, fits snugly, keeps arms warm

I'm funny when it comes to my arms and riding. On cool days, I'll start out with my arms covered, but I get warmed up within a couple of miles and have to uncover them. For this reason, I don't own any long sleeve jerseys. I often ride with a convertible jacket (and stop to zip off the sleeves.) I thought I'd simplify by wearing Pearl Izumi Sun Sleeves in place of the jacket. I purchased them because they looked good and I thought maybe they could do double duty - keep me warm on cool days, and provide sun protection on nicer days. They certainly accomplish the first task: They keep me warm. They fit snugly (and I have skinny arms) and the length is fine. They are well made. They are not itchy nor do I feel sweaty wearing them. An interesting feature is that they are left and right arm specific (look for the R and L near the wrist). There's no problem if they're mixed up, though. They don't seem as bulky as other arm warmers I've seen. Regarding the name "Sun Sleeve" and description that it provides protection while biking in sunny weather - I decided to test that premise today (April 16) in beautiful 70 degree weather here in the Bay Area. I did have to remove them because my arms felt too warm after a bit. Hence, I don't think they will take the place of sunscreen on a nice day, but your mileage will vary. I'd buy them again.

Surprised at how much I like these

I'm surprised that I like these as much as I do! I ordered them because I tend to burn and I'm doing a lot of cycling. I thought they'd be hot but they do seem to breathe well. I wore them for a 90-100 mile ride along the Kancamangus hwy and they were very comfortable. Also, since I'm getting a bit tired of Pearl Izumi stuff, I'm glad that the logo is as subtle as it is. I'd buy these again and, just might get another pair.

Very nice, bye bye sunscreen

I bought these for sun protection and so far these seem to do a v nice job. I have used them in 55-85F weather in Phoenix and they have been v comfortable to wear. The fit is nice and snug. I am going to buy another pair since I use them several times a week. I wish they would make them for the knees.

Buy them

Sunscreen is important, esp. to me after 55+ years of overexposure. But these offer a good alternative, without all the goo and sweat of sunscreen. Mine seem to run a little large, but no big deal. Very comfortable so far, but we'll see how they perform when our beloved NC humidity arrives (tomorrow).

Excellent Product

These worked just as expected. They protected me completely from the sun. They are a little warm on days when the temperature is in excess of 80 degrees Farenheight. An unexpected benefit was they provided light-weight support for my injured arm.

Over all, I would purchase this again.

Very good weight for early morning, but to hot for afternoon running in my area. The fit was nice and the top band was wide enough not to bite into your arm.
