Great all-purpose canoe

We have the Penobscot 16 (slightly older model), and love it. It's great for extended wilderness trips on flatwater or river rapids. It's light and portages easily, yet it's durable (especially when encountering rocks in rapids). It's just the right size - not too small or large. It's a great canoe and works well in many different settings.

The Best, Hands Down

I spent many summers in the North Woods of Canada with an older one of these bad boys. Fantastic on lake, river and the rapids. Light enough to portage for miles. Teeth to the Wind!
