After retiring at age 50 in 1967, Richard Proenneke made his way to Alaska to find a pristine location for a cabin and then proceeded to build his cabin by hand. This video is his account of the day-to-day challenges and activities that he embraced for 30 years while living alone in the Alaskan wilderness.
