I bought 2 of these for my girlfriend and I. We use them for dayhiking trips throughout PA. We can fit everything we need in there with no problems at all. She loves is because it carries plenty of water. Love the extra mesh side pockets for extra water bottles with sports drink mix for better hydration. It packs easy and light and hasn't given either of us any problems.
I love my CamelBak. I bought this pack about 2 years ago and use it all the time and it has held up great. The best thing about this pack is its capacity. For a hydration pack it has a ridiculous amount of space. I live in Austin, TX and it gets extremely hot here in the summer. I always wear this riding around town on my motorcycle or bike. Great to take on day hiking trips. Makes a great weekend pack. I have used it at ACL for the past 2 years. I have also used this pack snowboarding in CO, NM, and BC. With the added tube insulation it worked great in cold temperatures. If I am going to be doing anything outdoors for an extended period of time, hot or cold weather...I always have this with me. I love it!
First I would like to say that I love this pack. When I bought it I debated getting a similar model that was a bit larger, I got this one because of the price and I wish I would have gone for the larger one. This pack is great when you aren't going through lots of climate changes (and have to have lots of stuff) and you aren't hiking all day. I find myself unable to fit enough gear and water in it for my style of hiking. This is a great pack, but unless you like only small and mid sized hikes in perfect weather, go for the bigger one.
This is by far the best backpack I have ever owned! It's the most universal pack because you can use it for about anything! Need to carry your laptop to work when commuting? Check! Need water at the same time? Check! Want to go on an adventure around town and still be able to stop for groceries? Check! Well you get my point.. Everything on this pack was designed flawlessly from the way the pack sits to how convenient the pockets are. Plus the storage space is something you don't find on a usual daypack. Plus there are no belt straps to get in your way. Just throw it on and go! I'm a bike commuter and I tried the messenger bag and the sling bag and this bag wins hands down. If anyone is looking for an awesome bag for commuting/travel/adventure, then this is it!
This is my first reservoir pack and I bought this product before going to a 4 day music festival. I took it into the festival grounds all 4 days and put rain gear, sun screen, snacks, a blanket and other items both my friends and I wanted to take in. I was almost constantly wearing it and I never became uncomfortable. The water reservoir was large enough to share and didn't need to be refilled to often. I was also surprised how long the water stayed cold despite being in the sun all day.
Use this hydration pack for day hikes throughout Yosemite for the past couple of years and haven't had a single problem with it. Easy to fill. The ONLY issue is completely drying out the tubing from the reservoir to the bite valve. Takes a couple of day to get all of the water out...mostly left over condensation. Very comfortable for hiking and able to carry additional necessities (rain poncho, gorp, sunscreen, etc.) Too small for overnight ventures.
I bought Camelbak Cloud Walker five years ago and it is still in a great condition. I use it often for hiking or rock boulder. The hydration pack didn't break or leak. I was able to pack warmer clothes, wallet, flip flops (footwear after hiking) and first aid kit. It's so strong that it didn't have tear and wear although I have fell many times during rock boulder. It's worth the $$ and it lasts longer than my laptop backpack.
I just picked this up a couple weeks ago for day hikes and mountain bike rides. It easily swallows an extra layer of clothing, first aid kit, and a Mickey D's combo meal- all the essentials! My favorite part is how stable it is on your back- pull the straps snug, and your McChicken won't bounce around and get mayo all over those fries! Get the green or khaki one- black is boring and blue is just sad.
I bought this for hiking in Yosemite. But, I find it is very useful in everyday life (bikeriding, walking, etc.). I wasn't sure if 70 oz. would be enough but it is plenty. Plus, there is lots of room in the backpack for storage. Not to mention the "lifetime guarantee" on the bladder. Great item. I will always have a camelback on hand. Just wish I would have discovered them sooner.
Great daypack, it's not too big but not too small either, i was able to carry all of my food for the day as well as my wifes and still shared the water with her. She is definetly sold on the backpack so we will be purchasing one for her this week. This is a definite must for those of you who want to carry your stuff but don't want to know you are carring it.
