Wetsuit for regular guys,
Wow, I never thought I would find a wetsuit that would fit. I am 5'9" and 260. Most wetsuit companies think I must be 6'6" to weigh that much. I went with the G-XXL and it fits me like a glove.
Not just for the guys!
I hate cold water! On my first kayak lesson I rented this suit and, during the resuce portion of the lesson, found it to be extremely comfortable. It was the first time I had ever worn a wetsuit so I didn't know what to expect. This is like a second skin and I forgot about wearing it about 10 min. into a 4 hr. lesson, but it certaily kept me "warm" vs the cold bay when in the water. I purchased this suit before going white-water rafting and realized that it was one of the best investments I have made. It kept me from leg sunburn, I had total arm mobility and inbetween runs could pop the shoulders to relax and stay cool when out of the water. I could also unzip the legs and turn them up to get more air circulation, too. I was never hot in this suit when in or out of the water. If there was one thing I would wish NRS could do, it would be to make it for women. I find it a little tight in the chest (I'm a full-figured gal), but not restrictive. Not all water people are 20-something model types! We need gear, too. If you are looking for something easy to put on, versitile, ease of movement and amazingly EASY to get out of (ladies, don't forget to wear a bathing suit underneath, lol), this is it. You will not be disappointed.
Velcro Adjustable Straps = Painful on Skin
Seems like it's made of good material, but there is a major design flaw in putting the velcro in the adjustable straps with the sharp side facing TOWARD the skin. Whenever I moved my arms, the sharp velcro pad would scratch up my skin. I'm 6'1" and the G-XXL was too short for me to use the button on the strap, so I had to attach the arms using solely velcro, which also meant that a larger portion of the sharp velcro was exposed. I don't know why it would be designed this way, maybe I got a suit where they mixed up which side to put the sharp velcro on.
