Been wearing these for years...
..and they never fail me. I buy a new pair every year...the old pair becomes my farmyard knockabouts and the new pair my go to town shoes...so smart, comfortable and supportive..I can even run in them !!! A really great shoe...
Good shoes!
These shoes are replacing a pair of Salomon shoes of very similar style that have served me faithfully for 3 seasons every year since 2006. Yes. You read that right. So these Merrill shoes have a lot to live up to! They arrived today (one day later than the promise ship date, but no problem)and I put them on and wore them all day, walking dogs, going dog-scootering, working outside, coming inside and going back out. They are comfortable! I tried spraying them with some water repellent spray, but it rolled right off, so even though they are not advertised as being water resistant, apparently they are. Only time will tell if they hold up to a phenomenal 6 years of 3 season use, but so far, I am happy with this purchase!
Comfortable every day shoe!
I purchased these in the grey color for everyday wear and the black color for wearing at work. These shoes are very comfortable, and slip on and off easily without being loose. I have a wide foot, and these fit very well for me. My work shoes get splashed on by various liquids all day, and it easily wipes off with a wet wipe or a wet towel. I purchased these partially for their waterproof quality, I hate having wet feet in the PNW. The only thing worth noting is they DONT have any traction and you can slip in them very easily. I wore them while it was icy this winter and fell on my butt more than once. I would recommend for all seasons other than winter when it gets icy out!
Other than the color....
I love Merrell Jungle Mocs! I've been wearing them for decades. They are my go-to shoe as they are comfortable, have decent arch support and they slip on. However, I think the web site has the wrong photos for the color, The photo shows a dark brown shoe and identifies the color as as "Gunsmoke." Hmmm, that sounds like gray. Guess what, it is! Very gray. Oh well, they'll do. I'd also love to see these shoes with a hiking shoe styled sole for better grip.
What the heck happened to these shoes?
Merrell Jungle Mocs are my all-time favorite shoes. This is the sixth pair I've bought. But what the heck has happened to them since my last purchase? Just got my newest pair, same size, and I cannot even slide my foot into the shoe! It's so stiff it feels like reinforced cardboard. I count on these shoes and I'm devastated that these shoes are now AWFUL! I have no choice but to return them. This is such an incredible let-down.
My go to shoe
This is the third pair of Jungle Mocs I have owned. I wear them everywhere. Walking along the beach, shopping, hikes in the desert, hikes in the forest. I do find I skid on wet hard surfaces so a little careful there. I was hoping that a new pair would prevent this, but not so. The suede looks real good. I would not reccomend the Nubuck. I started with these the third time round and returned them.

Great product
This is the third pair of these that I have bought. I purchased one for myself which I am still wearing. I bought a second pair for my wife who has worn them out. She has worn them everywhere and we more than got our money's worth out of them. She loved them so much I decided to buy her a replacement pair for a surprise Christmas present. I don't wear my pair as intently as she does so I still have a lot of use before I replace mine. When I wear mine out, this is what I will be buying. You can't go wrong with this product, particularly if you live in a northern climate like we do up here in Minnesota.
Quality has gone WAY downhill! :-(
I've been wearing Merrell Jungle Mocs (and other Merrell styles) for decades, and they've always been my "go-to" shoes for dependable fit and comfort right out of the box. I wear my Jungle Mocs everywhere, so I have to replace them about every 2-3 years, and recently bought two new pairs -- one in Gunsmoke (brown), the other in Midnight. The Gunsmoke shoes are PERFECT, but the Midnights have issues all over :-( The toe area is too tight, the heels are too loose, the sides rub against my lower ankles and poke into my ankle bones, and the shoes make my feet feel as if they're "tilting in" -- like standing on wobbly ice skates and having your ankles bend toward each other :-/ Not sure if Merrell has changed manufacturing facilities, changed the design, or something else ... but these are NOT the Jungle Mocs that I've known and loved for so long :-( I'm especially upset because I bought them specifically for an upcoming (in three days) trip to Europe, but there's no way I'll risk taking these as my "main shoes" and possibly inflict 10 days of agony on my feet. Please, Merrell, bring back the OLD -- and always reliable -- Jungle Mocs! I can see from the many recent online reviews of this style that I'm not the only one who's had these issues.
STILL A GREAT SHOE
I bought a pair of these shoes years ago for work. I was on my feet for the majority of the day and these shoes were a great support for my feet. After I retired I continued to wear them as casual shoes. They lasted for about 9 years. I didn't have this brand for a couple years and tried in vain to find a comfortable shoe to wear around the house. Then I recalled how much I liked these shoes and thought I would try them again if they were still available. They were, so I ordered them and my feet have been very happy since.

Not the cutest shoes in my collection by far but now that I have an arthritic condition in my feet, these are one of my faves on 'I'm having a bad foot day'
