Bought these to replace a lost one. Fits my 20 year old Yakima rails. The old style had a spacer for road bike wheels but the replacements don't. Have to pull hard to get a tight fit.
Quick fix
These new straps were a fast and easy fix for 6 year old, weather beaten straps. Worth the price to replace them.
Never Worked Easily
The originals with my rack never worked very easily. Although I have had the rack for several years, it has spent some time in storage & has not been used that much for it to be a wear & tear issue. Yesterday it took me & another person more than 20 minutes to release & remove my bike. I am considering replacing but the other reviews don't give me much faith. I removed the rack from the car & will decide later if I try to use it again.
originals were bad
Original rattlers on my rack no longer release the rear wheel without an enormous fight. The rack has not seen terribly heavy use. Not sure if Yakima has improved them. Sure hope so.
Won’t release easily
Flimsy plastic that bends the latch meant to release the strap instead of levering away. Always a fight to get bike off the rack.
