I am 5'4" and bought a large because I am large breasted and often wear my base layers as a shirt when traveling so I don't like them too clingy. This is very long in arms and length, so indeed a large in that respect, but very narrow across the body. It's comfortable and warm, but cannot be warn without something over it unless you are model level tall and skinny. As a base layer it's warm and mid-weight. As a shirt on it's own it's too clingy to be flattering to most bodies.
I love these! I own several of them! theyre the perfect under layer to wear under my work shirts. they keep me warm when im in the cooler and i dont get too hot when im out of it
