I’ve been wearing Arc’teryx Axino 3/4 knickers under my shell bib for a number of seasons and since Arc’teryx stopped making them I was looking for something similar. So I bought Rho 3/4 in size M. They are really great but I find them a bit too small. So I gave this pair to my son who is a bit slimmer than me and they fit him perfectly. I will be buying size L for myself. I’m 6’ tall and 170lbs. I still prefer Axinos over Rhos as I find them more comfortable and warmer but 3/4 are absolutely a good option too.
I just bought these and I have not skied in them as of yet. I think they will be great. They are not heavy and have stretch at and around the calf. There is no fly or waist adjustment. I am 5'10 and 195 pounds and purchased a men's large. They run just a bit small, which is good in this case for base layers because I don't like them baggy, but you have to be able to move and bend. I thought about a medium (I always wear a large bottom and top) because I thought they might be baggy, they are not baggy. There is no way I could wear a medium, they would be extremely tight, unusable for me, I don't know if I could get a medium past my thighs. They are light with a little insulation. I think they will be great under my ski pants on cold days instead of a heavy weight wool or really puffy down pants.
These were sick but returned them for 1 reason. What I loved: the perfect amount of insulation and just the overall design. Why I returned: Even though I sized up they fit too tight on the calves. I wanted to wear them over leggings I prefer the Rho heavyweight fleece bottoms. They were 5 star. Perfect fit, warm and soooo soooo soft. I would rebuy these if the calf fit was different.
I bought these a week ago and wore them for the first time while skiing in temps around 0 degrees F. I was wearing these under uninsulated shell pants and I put sweat pants over top of the Rhos. It was still a little chilly on the lift, but they provided the perfect level of warmth while skiing or standing around. The material is soft and feels nice.
I'm 6'4" 190, wear a M or L depending on brand. Ordered an M based on size chart, very tight, could barely get them on so had to return them. Well constructed but thought they would be more substantial, haven't worn them skiing so can't comment on how warm. Still thinking about whether to order the large.
It is just the right item to wear under my Saber pants. I did add a layer when it got down below 15F. I used them for running when it was 20 and they were perfect. They are very breathable and warm when sweating. I added a drawstring because it was saggy without one, which is why I gave it a 4, not a 5
Great warmer option for bottoms while skiing. The extra warmth on the front is great when sitting on the cold windy lift. They run small I had to size up. The fence is soft and workable but a gate would be appreciated. Five stars if it had a gate.
Very Nice to layer when a wool layer is too little. I bought XL while i am normally a large. Its a more baggy feel, but i dont regret it. Keep in mind that it fits tight.
Skied a few times with them. Find they are super comfortable. When under over -5 C I keep my side vents open so I don't heat up. My new go to pants. Need to buy more.
Very comfortable, but runs a little smaller. i'm 5'11" and 180 lbs and large fits best for me. Not too warm, but comfortable in temps to 15 to 10 F
