Finally got my hands on this coveted pair of Gamma SL pants. I’m usually a 32-R, but had to size up since the fit runs more “fitted” — especially around the crotch, which felt a bit snug for me. Sizing up made all the difference, and I’d definitely recommend it for better comfort. I recently wore them on hikes around the Squamish area, paired with my Proton SL Hoody — and together, they were the perfect match for the changing conditions this Spring. The Gamma SL pants are incredibly light next to skin, almost like wearing nothing, and the freedom of movement is unreal.
Nice fit. Much lighter than normal Gamma, but not as light as the Le Froy pants were (wish you'd bring Le Froy back). On a 77 degree day they felt light, airy, and breathable. Bought the blue color as well. Oddly the blue fabric feels just slightly heavier than the Tatsu / green color. Great for traveling. Easily hand washed in a sink and air dried over night. I wear these both hiking, and day to day. They look nice and go from office to trail with a change of foot wear. Highly recommend. Lean athletic 158lbs, 5'9, size Small. I used to buy the XS, but they fit more snug after 2.5 years of bodybuilding. The size Small has a bit of room and less snug. More room for bodybuilding growth.
These are some of my favorite pants. Something I've noticed is that if you sweat alot or are on the thiccer side, the green Tatsu pair will show, I woukd say probably go up in your regular size but I wouldnt recommend that advice till i try it myself ( hopefully soon) besides the sweat lines being seen, the pants are still among my favorite and are super lightweigh. They also are highly durable, though again, with the tatsu pair they are a bit more vulnerable to things like oils so again be careful. Overall though theyve become my goto everyday pants at this point. If the sweat absorption/liquid proofing gets fixed id say these pants are a straight 10/10 necessity for anyone on any occasion.
These are everything I want in a summer alpine pant. Quick closure, light, fast drying, quiet, and comfortable. I've been using them for alpine climbing and fast overnights, but also for travel, hiking, and working around the house. The closure system is solid, zip pockets are functional, and colors are great.
I have two pair of these and alternate between them when travelling… They are lightweight, quick drying and I love the pockets with zippers… I truly hope Arc’teryx never stops making them…
I have the Gamma SL, Black, 28 Short. I quite like these SL over the regular Gamma (standard weight). They breathe well, they're a touch long on the "short inseam" side, which is unfortunate, but ultimately is also fine. i have no issues with the flexibility these bottoms provide. However, the belt should be maybe .25" wider. I have a pair of gammas where the side pocket failed, contemplating just stitching it myself, aside from all of that, pretty solid purchase.
This pants fits ridiculously long. If you are listening to this Arcteryx, you should MAKE MORE SHORT IN SEAM VERSIONS INSTEAD OF LOBG AND REGULAR. The black short in seams sells out insanely fast every year and you guys not realizing anything about it? JUST MAKE MORE 36-Ss Ok???????? Only bots can cop those short inseam versions and your regular and tall versions fit ridiculously long. I won’t buy any Gamma SL in Regular and Tall. It’s so stupid
I bought forage color. It is nice color. I am 6 4 205 pounds. 34R is size I bought and for me it is right size. 34T would be to long. Fit is nice, more slim then regular. Similar to gamma pants but slimer. Material feels nice. Little bit wrinkled but not to bad. Perfect around waist. They feel to be good quality but the time will show. I will use it for hiking travel and every day. I believe most of people will like them.
Having purchased two of the Gamma pants for fall and layered winter wear, I was thrilled when the SL version became available. Have worn them on the few warm days we have had this spring and they are as comfortable as the heavier weight Gamma's. I expect SL version will be as durable and suitably breathable to become my go-to pant for hiking the mosquito infested forests this spring and summer.
His pants are highly versatile, and extremely comfortable. Can be worn with a sport blazer if you want to dress them up a bit. Also versatile enough to use on a hiking trip. Very light and comfortable. The end of the belt buckle flaps around a bit when the waist is tightened, and I wish they had a better solution for that, but overall excellent.
