I got these and wore them on a few short hikes and they did great, perfect ankle support and super lightweight. I walked through multiple creeks with these and they were insanely waterproof. However, I backpacked 40 miles with them and after mile 18 or so the pain was unbearable on the bottom of my feet. I felt every rock, especially while descending. I ended with blisters on the bottom of my feet that I've never had before. Ultimately I won't wear these again for backpacking and will use something more rigid and durable.
First time purchase of the Xero brand of hiking boots. I've worn them a couple of weeks now, so here are my thoughts: FIT: I normally wear 7.5, but purchased size 8 as recommended. Fit is very good. COMFORT: I have neuromas that require a wide toe box for any sort of comfort, and these boots accommodate my swollen foot issues perfectly. They are also of lighter weight than my previous Keen Targhee boots and this adds to the comfort level. Cushioning is so-so but my preference is for support, and I did notice that over time with a break-in period they felt more comfortable. QUALITY: These boots feel well-made, however, I've only used them for light hiking and I'm not sure how they would hold up to a more vigorous mountain hike. They have been waterproof when walking through wet meadows. ATTRACTIVENESS: Very nice looking boots! PRICE: I was able to get these on sale and feel they are priced fairly.
Fit is comfortable. Size 8(spruce)in these(actual 7.5). I recommend this shoe. There are many xero shoes that I've tried that fit terribly, but these are good. I'll be using them for camping and outdoor activities. I wanted a shoe that works for everything and this should be it.
