I bought this bike to commute in Chicago in the winter. I had to take it into the shop to get a firmware update, otherwise the system would turn off below 40-odd degrees. Now I've ridden it in the mid 20s with no problem. 40+ miles of range is on the lowest assist level on flat ground - I probably get about 30 miles of range going between 2-3 assist. This bike is so heavy (esp with panniers) that at level 1 you could have just bought a regular bike that weighed half as much. It works well for what I wanted it for - it's easy to get up to 18-20mph, and the fenders, wide tires and disc brakes are great for midwinter slop. A lot of corners were clearly cut for this bike - the shifting is rough, the grips and seat are cheap, and the integrated lights are barely functional - I had to add another headlight so I could see where I was going. It's been said elsewhere - don't consider this a replacement for a regular bike, think of it as a replacement for your car.
We now own two of the adventure neo allroad bikes. For all around bike trail riding and light off road riding the bike performs very well. They are light weight for an ebike. The bike handles well on varied terrain. Bikes have the overall quality one would expect from a cannondale.
