wore these to a race because i finally wanted to try them out and see what the hype was about… i cut two minutes off my original record and got my race pr. i was flying in these shoes, going 6 minutes flat per mile. if you are already are a fast runner (talking about averaging sub 9 minute miles) get these…
Just put 12 miles on them and so far, so good! It feels better than the Vaporfly 3’s, which didn’t last long for me. Very lightweight, supportive, and sufficient cushioning. Love the bright red color too!
Worse shoes ever, really bad quality, so many defects in the design and it looks very cheap for the price that we pay. I’m a long term Nike client and it’s very disappointing to get this.
Did my first run in these and I definitely was going super fast, I did size up as needed for running shoes and it was perfect. Gave me a boost of confidence for my upcoming half marathon!
These shoes lasted 10 weeks of track season before the heel came off.
After a less enjoyable Vaporfly 3, I was ecstatic to try these on and immediately notice the similarities to the Vaporfly 2 which was previously my favorite Nike racings shoe. “Adding lightness,” in the words of Lotus, is the best thing you can do whenever you already have an incredible design. Laces have improved slightly, and are still the best on the market; these don’t stretch and don’t come untied. Durability is always the tradeoff with some foams, and is the only possible criticism of this pair.
I’ve had the vaporfly 2 (run small), vaporfly 3 (run small and big). The vaporfly 3 fits perfectly and I can wear regular socks! It fits snug like a sock but not too tight. I can sustain my extremely hot hiit workout without my feet heating and cramping so these are a win win for me! I need more colors other than white and pastels!! My only complaint is that there isn’t enough laces for me to make a bow. I have to tie in a knot. I would definitely recommend these if you’re a vaporfly fan!
I have worn these for all the marathons I’ve run and nothing else compares. The carbon fiber plate offers perfect bounce and support I need during a long run. The new stretch braided laces instead of the previous barbed laces is a great new feature. I’m normally a size 7 but always order a size up for marathons size 8 gives enough room without being too big. Wouldn’t run a marathon without them.
Very happy with this replacement for the original pair that had a defect on the inner sole. This one is defect free and it felt better than my other Vaporfly pair from last year- I felt the middle of the shoe was a bit wider which felt better. As for comfort and performance - same as my other Vaporfly. This is labeled as woman’s shoe - but it remains unisex and I can’t tell the difference.
Nike Vaporfly 4 Proto This racing shoe is somewhat uncomfortable, but yet quite fast. The support near the ankle is not very secure, but it works. Laces can be an issue though as wearing this racing shoe requires a tight lacing setting due to it's low amount of secureness. This is an issue as it will be too tight, or not tight enough. Having it too tight will result in when taking off the shoe, having a stingy sensation on your foot (5 mins). The Vaporfly 4 Proto also uses a Jordan 1 styled toebox which means it will be slightly uncomfortable. The racing shoe runs small, so go a size and a half up. Not only that, but the ZoomX foam is not very durable. I would recommend NOT washing this shoe or any Vaporfly/Alphafly due the ZoomX foam which is very fragile. Apart from all this, the Vaporfly 4 Proto(s) is an acceptable choice for racing due to it's stiffness with the carbon fiber plate and the cushioning ZoomX foam.
