[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would recommend Women's Omni-Heatâ„¢ Midweight Baselayer Tights. I can wear these all day and stay warm and never damp. Comfortable and soft even on the longest Hiking or Snowshoeing trips. The fit is perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I might have had high (naive) expectations being a Florida girl and not knowing much about cold weather, but I thought I could wear these under regular knit leggings and go hiking in 10 degree weather for 2 hours and the fabric technology would be able to keep me warm. That was not the case. My legs started to go numb! I wish Columbia would mention the temperature degree range these base layers work best for so people like me could know what we are working with! Needless to say, I returned them. Also to note, these leggings run large (I'm a solid 3X in bottoms but bought a 2X in these) and they are also see-through in case that matters.
I originally got the capri version of these tights and wear them all the time. I love them - they even held up when I was chased by a herd of cattle in the English countryside! Got a little torn and scratched, but they're still functional and warm. They fit perfectly. The full length is a little long on me - I got a medium because my backside and legs are a bit big, but I'm 5'4" so they kind of slide down and bunch up around my ankles. All tights that aren't compression tights do this to me. These are warm, very comfortable, durable, and just what I need to run/hike/paddle in the Southeast in the Fall and early winter. They also work great as a baselayer when skiing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Main reason for the poor review is the poor construction for the high price. I had these for 5 weeks and only wore a couple of times and the stitching between the elastic band at the top and the pant separated. I now have a 2 inch hole between the band and the pant. Very disappointing. Other reason, was I was hoping to wear as a standalone on walks with my dog, but they are not as warm as I was hoping for from a mid-weight legging. Regular knit leggings are warmer.
These arrived in the post this week and I was pretty nervous about the fit as I am a plus-size woman, and it's hard to get anything to fit fit my large, apple-shaped frame. But hooray! These are PERFECT. I wore both the pants and the top outside all afternoon in the cold and was really comfortable. The thinness of the material belies the warmth they give, (I'm a naturally cold-natured person, so this is crucial), and makes them fit neatly under outer clothing. I'm loyal to these babies forever. Regarding fit, I recommend sizing down in the pants, and ordering your normal size in the top. Great job Columbia! Keep these terrific plus-size pieces coming. We like to go outside, too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Listen, just buy them. I’m always skeptical paying a lot for anything but this is worth it. I don’t know why I question this brand as I own so much from them and they have never let me down. I’m from Texas and used these this Dec to a trip to Iceland where everyday was below freezing and these kept me warm. Now, was I as toasty as being in Texas? Absolutely not but I didn’t die, which for a Texas gal, was a concern. They heated me up and then wicked away my sweat when needed. Also, when they suggest the size, listen to them. I went a size up to a large instead of a med as suggested and should have went with the Med. I’m just at 5 feet and weigh about 145lbs which I carry most in my stomach, butt and thighs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently outfitted myself and my husband for a XC ski trip Whitefish, Montana. First time for me. We were concerned about being warm enough. This base layer was plenty warm, fit nicely and moved with me on the trail. It wicked away moisture when the skiing was aerobic. I never felt a chill as I cooled down. When we got home it was easy to launder and repack. It rolls up into nothing. It was so much exactly what we needed, that I have purchased more sets for myself, my husband and 2 daughters. We are trialing it at Lake Louise later this month. Great product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered these to add an extra layer at work this winter. I tend to go between working inside to outside all year round and I really wanted something that would be a nice in between and keep me warm, but not get overheated. These are perfect! I was able to use these one day of going between the office to in a car to outside snowshoeing to working in a lightly insulated building that wasn't heated and not feel cold at all while outside and not feel like I had too many layers on with my uniform.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these thermals for a trip to Yellowstone early in the year. I wore them under the Saturday Trail Stretch Pants on hikes and it couldn't have worked out better. They are thin enough to easily fit under pants, and stretchy enough for me to hike in two layers of pants without being constrained. I stayed warm in temperatures in the 30s while hiking, and hiking in snow. When it warmed up, it wicked away any sweat and kept me comfortable. I would definitely buy it again and highly recommend!
These leggings are perfect for everything. They're light enough to wear around the house, under skirts, and to bed. They're warm enough to wear as a base layer for outdoor adventures. I've worn them in every weather condition and they have kept me toasty. I have worn them climbing many times and bushwhacking and they don't have any holes in them (yet). They're sturdy and attractive! The sizing is good. I am usually between a small and medium and was happy with the medium in this product.
