We worked for years as athletes with Arc’teryx developing a relaxed fit pant for more free ride oriented riding. The result is the Sabre Relaxed Pant. It is a hard-wearing waterproof pant that will last for years, with a fit and silhouette that improves mobility and looks really good. Super happy that Arc’teryx has made such a great fitting pant!
Amazing baggy/relaxed Arc pants for snowboarding. I am 5'8" 200lbs and wear the 2XL. At first I thought they would be wayyyyy to big, but they fit really amazing with the internal belt. If you want to bring the steez to the mountain these are the pants. The build and materials are top notch with excellent movement!
I bought this pants and wore them snowboarding on the third day, only to find that the back started tearing and small holes appeared. For the price, I expected much better durability. Very disappointing and not recommended.
These are the best ski pants I have seen from arc. 5'4'' 29'' waist I tried the xs and s, the xs was way too tight. The highest denier fabric is superior yet lightweight and I like that there is no polyester liner as they slip over layers wonderfully. The pocket configuration is good with nice storm flaps that can be flipped up and attachment loops in both cargo pockets. They are wider on the bottom but not too wide and they fit over ski boots effortlessly. The fit is better than the sabre but I had to return them because they are not offered in a shorter inseam. I would love to see these offered in a bib version with a full length center front zip and a short inseam. If you have a 32'' inseam or longer they are the best ski pants.
This pant is the best blend of fit and function I have ever tried. A light, waterproof exterior performs exceptionally to regulate temperature and stay dry. Reinforcecd boot cuffs prevent damage and also increase easy of adjustment when needed. The waist cinch mechanism enables me to fit an XL, and enjoy a loose-fitting pant optimized for freeride skiing, without worrying about the pants staying where I want them. This is the only baggy pant I've ever worn that provides an elite tier of quality and technical distinction for backcountry skiing.
Fit is great! Size L-R 5’9” 33/34 waist. If your unsure on waist size go up as they’re a little snug. They are a baggier option and I love the look they offer. The wider inseam is nice but the foot/bottom can drag a bit past the boot. Perhaps a bottom synch or offer a shorter inseam option. Material is real nice, durable & quality feel. Right upper pocket would be ideal for a phone but is. Little small/oriented so phone is perpendicular to leg which can be annoying. Overall 5 star for look and quality.
Ordered a few Sabre Pants/Bibs to check the sizing. These were too baggy in the legs for my taste, even sized down to L, which would have been too snug at the waist. I did have an XL pair of relaxed pants in the order but didn’t even bother trying them on after seeing how the L fitted. I ultimately settled on XL Sabre Pants but the XL bib would also have been fine. I did like the outer material of the relaxed (which feels rougher and more hard wearing vs the smooth goretex on the standard Sabre pant).
These pants are top notch. I have worn them in a blizzard and on a sunny day (no thermals on the warm sunny day). They hold up well in every scenario and the baggy fit makes it feel like the pants aren't even there. They have enough vents to stay cool after a big powder run. There is also a built-in belt that comes in clutch for adjusting the fit to be spot on. It's the most comfortable I have been in years. The price tag is steep, but I'll never need to buy another pair of pants again (I hope).
5'10" 190lbs I ordered the medium because my waist size is 34 in almost every pant. The fit on these is pretty horrible. Tight around the waist and butt then extremely baggy throughout the rest. I thought I was in some early 2000's park ski edit when I tried them on. like I could probably fit 2 of my legs into one leg opening. Really solid build quality I just wish the sizing wasn't a complete shot in the dark.
Excellent quality as you’d expect. I was excited to see a relaxed ski pant, after years of geeky tighter-fitting pants. I’m 178cm tall, 71kg: normally I fit a 31-32 inch waist: the small size was far too tight at the waist; the medium regular size was good, with a bit of spare room at the waist - fine for a relaxed fit. However, there was a ridiculous amount of excess material at the seat of the pant, just below the waist band, which stuck out like a duck’s behind and looked ridiculous! Even allowing for full range of movement when crouching (e.g. when skiing moguls), I don’t know any medium sized guys whose butts stick out that far! For this reason alone, I had to return the pants. The only other thing I’d change is to have two front hand pockets instead of just one (could do without the rear pocket, I never use the rear pocket on ski pants). And I’d remove the poppers at the rear, these are annoying if you don’t own an Arcteryx jacket.
