This bag is amazing! Pretty much all reviews of this bag you’ll see online are using the bag for a single person and they usually say it’s too big. That may be true, but we will use this as a family bag for local, domestic and international travel to replace a suitcase that just broke. I travel with my two young children quite often and this size is perfect and less of a pain to haul than my 55L duffel. Just packed it for my and my husband’s trip to Mexico for 4 days, and it holds everything nicely with room to spare. I’m an annoyingly light packer, however, so YMMV. As far as construction. It is solid. Pockets are thoughtfully placed and constructed. I love the colors I got of course. The chest and waist clip fit me well as a plus size and tall woman (5’9” 300lbs), with plenty of slack in the waist clip to spare. There is a lack of structure in this that hiking backpacks possess, but it’s not going to replace a proper hiking backpack if you’re planning to carry it for days on end. That’s not what it’s trying to be. It’s basically to replace a suitcase that can be difficult to manage on cobblestone streets and in and out of public transit. Use case for this is getting it through the airport, transportation, some moderate walking to your lodging and back. Especially great if you need your hands free to manage your children, like I do.
Great travel pack. Use of high quality materials and excellent design for functionality. Also, love the color combination of my Del Dia Dark!
Thanks for the ample packing space, the convenient and well placed zippered pockets for everything I tend to need to keep handy, and most of all, thanks for the stylish use of color accents on the black Allpa 42L Travel Pack. I can be practical and still feel elegant.
Looks so good & convenient!
We purchased both the green regular Allpa 42L and the Del Dia Dark - thinking they were identical products just different looks - especially since on the Del Dia product page it states exactly "Identical to our standard Allpa 42L Travel Pack in features and function". However, because it's in very small print and not called out on the site, it wasn't until we received and gave them as gifts did we realize the Del Dia Dark is NOT the same - it's a different. The regular is: Shell 1: 100% recycled 840D TPU-coated nylon Shell 2: 100% recycled 840D ballistic ripstop nylon The Del Dia is: 100% deadstock nylon & polyester . . . no shell either. . . This is very disappointing - otherwise they are nice bags.
The Del Dia 42 L is suprisingly amazing. I love the compartments , the quality of the textile and the color contrast . I can't wait to use it on my upcoming South America trip. I'll purchase the todo dia sling and some accessories , soon
Super cute stylish and fit everything I needed for a getaway.
Amazing distribution of pocket, light weight, Love the colors
I haven’t had the chance to put the Allpa bag to use traveling yet, but I do plan on using it for an upcoming trip to Belize. After talking with some family members who have this travel bag and after reading the numerous reviews, I knew the Allpa 42L travel bag was gonna be perfect for my trip. I have a couple other Cotopaxi bags that I use for day hikes and adventuring and they are amazing!!! So many pockets that have a purpose and the materials used always hold up to the rugged conditions I put them through. I know that the Allpa will live up to the many top reviews that I read. I try to pack light and stay away from the need to check luggage. That is the primary reason I bought the Allpa 42L travel bag. I can’t wait to sling this bag over my shoulder as I travel to Belize.
I selected this pack because I have an upcoming trip of two weeks in Japan and I wanted to challenge myself to limit myself to this as my only piece of luggage. It was important that it be carryon-able. I also chose the 42l because the uniform depth to the main compartment allowed me the extra space for unique items I was bringing. I was also too timid to try the Del Dia across the entire pack but am in love with the accents it brings to the outside and the secret joy of colors once opened!
