Features

  • Fully openable design allows this harness to be put on while wearing crampons or skis
  • Leg loop buckles are securely held in place and have been optimized to make them easier to use with gloves
  • Minimalist gear loops are easy to use; they're reinforced for more rigidity when racking gear, yet they're soft enough to wear comfortably under the waistbelt of a backpack
  • 1 elastic loop on each leg loop serves to hold screws in place, making it easy and quick to access them when needed, yet keeping them silent when moving (screws not included)
  • Monofilament mesh throughout the harness is highly air-permeable, making it more comfortable on warmer days or during high-exertion ascents
  • Harness is highly hydrophobic, meaning it won't hold moisture and dries extremely quickly when wet
  • Extended tie-in connection points help bring rappel devices farther from the body, making them easier to see and use while wearing bulky layers
  • Variable-width waistbelt is slim yet comfortable as it disperses pressure over a larger surface area when you're hanging in the harness
  • Certified to CE EN 12277, UIAA 105 standards

Favorite ski harness

The Choices light harness is my go to for skiing objectives due to its light weight and packability. It is so light you barely notice when wearing it and it packs down smaller than an extra pair of socks. I used this harness for over 50 days this spring on glaciated terrain and rappelled many times, I even did a couple of mixed climbs in it. While I wouldn't recommend it for a climbing route where you may fall, simply because of comfort, for descending and glacial safety purposes it is the best I have tried. Although it only has 2 gear loops, I can comfortably fit all necessary glacial rescue gear, extra ice screws and rock protection on it without it becoming cumbersome.

Not very good weight transfer

Most of the weight is supported by the waist belt instead of the leg loops so not very comfortable. I threaded a 48” sewn sling through both leg loops and both tie-in loops and clipped the center and ends of the sewn sling together to achieve weight transfer to the leg loops and make the harness more comfortable to hang in.

Game Changer

So light and packable, and go to by far for ski mountaineering. I use this every day in Chamonix. Have done up to 3x 60m rappels in it in one run and still felt very comfortable.

1/2 dome safety

So light and packable, able to fit into the carrying case for the via ferrat system I’m pairing this with. Won’t use until June 2026, but Xmas pricing made me get it now.
