quality but boxy
Great looking jacket and feels quality at every turn. Fits big. boxy fit as well. I wear a medium across the board and I was swimming in this medium. returned. Im 6ft at 160lbs
Love this coat!
My first impression was that it was on the heavy side as I was accustomed to a much lighter coat. However We have spent two weeks in Norway, ending up in Svalbard 73’33” And this coat is so warm that I don’t need a second layer underneath it. Also love the finish of the material as it seems to repel rain rather than absorb it. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is some tiny feathers that appear at all the seams, but I’ve seen that on previous down jackets that I have owned. Next stop Iceland!
Odd fit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted like the jacket, however the fit is very odd. I’m 6’ 200lbs, average build, no belly. A large fits big in the stomach area, great across the chest, but the arms are too short. When I stretch my arms out, the sleeves pull up well above my wrists. Would fit a shorter individual with a stocky build. I wish they’d show sleeve length in jackets like they do button down shirts. Would save a lot of headaches ordering online. Otherwise the jacket is very nice and VERY warm.
Good Jacket but fitment could be better
In general Marmot's jackets are short in the sleeve length compared to other brands. Long time supporter of Marmot from the original days when they rejected an entire shipment from their supplier for quality issues. This must have been 35 years ago. I have at least 20 pieces of equipment over the years and the warranty team has been fantastic if I had an issue. Just wish that they made more tall clothing for both men and women.
I love this jacket!
This has quickly become my favorite jacket that I own. It's versatile in that I can wear it on really cold days and be warm. Or I can wear it on more mild days and not be too hot. It's very soft and comfortable and I also like how it's not overly "puffy" so I can wear it for a night out on the town. I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone who might be on the fence.
Good for southern States
Bought this because higher fills are too warm for our climate. It's quite comfortable. Fit is true. Pockets are good. Only dislike was the sleeves are very open no cuff adjustments. Which if you have gloves would be fine. Would make a ok east coast ski jacket. Or for southern state Winter farm chores. Wouldn't use it under 20 degrees without thermals and sweater.
Very nice at the sale price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 6'3, 240, dad bod and the XL fits perfect. I was iffy about ordering the "green" but it's real nice in person. It's close to Army green. I'm not into the puffer look nor do I want to give off that "ask me about hiking" look and this jacket fits the bill. Stylish yet functional. I recently wore it outside in low 30s with a flannel shirt and was comfortable for hours.
A solid layering piece
Got this on sale, and the sale price was worth it! Not sure if I would have paid full price for it. Similar to other reviewers, I do notice a consistent amount of down "leakage" but nothing significant. Jacket is warm, sleeve length may be a little short for some people and is not elasticated. I wear gloves so not an issue for me but may be for some people.
So good, I had to buy another one!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Burdell jacket - I gave my first one away as it no longer fit me after I lost some weight (XXL). I missed it, and when this blue one showed up on sale, I had to get another one in XL. Not the warmest jacket and not water proof, but great looking and very comfortable - good to about 30 degrees (or lower with layers).
Green jacket, great color and fit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really nice jacket. Not the typical ripstop fabric. A good cross between a stylish fashion jacket and solid warmth of a technical down jacket. Lovely green color - not too bright green - sort of subdued army green. I really like it! I read other reviews that it runs large so ordered a size smaller (S instead of M). It fits perfectly.
