I have so many problems with my feet. Specifically: heel spurs, plantar fascitis, and hallux limitus. I can not walk too many steps in a day without massive pain shooting through my feet. I went to a specialty shoe store and they recommended these shoes. I wore them all day while we were doing yardwork: no pain. We just got back from 8 days in Iceland. The weather was horrible. I walked 13,000-25,000 steps per day on all surfaces: sidewalks, loose gravel, sand, mild rock climbing, etc. I had not one bit of pain in my feet. AMAZING shoes. I would give them 10 out of 5 stars if I could.
I've been wearing X More trail for years. It was discontinued. Bought the Hierro in my normal size 6...too small, too narrow. Exchanged for 6.5 extra wide and the shoe is still too narrow in the toe box, too narrow on the instep/toe box height too low. I used to recommend NB Trail to everyone but not anymore.
Very disappointed with this hiking shoes from New Balance. The sizing runs smaller than other NB shoes I own, and I felt pain in my toes on the very first day of wearing them. Unfortunately, I can’t return them after wearing, so I’m stuck with shoes I don’t want to use. They just didn’t meet my needs.
For my first pair of trail runners, I’m impressed! I do trail hiking and site seeing (not running) and am breaking these in for an upcoming Europe trip in the Alps and city site seeing. These fit true to size. Very comfortable and cushioned with a lot of traction. A bit squeaky when walking on polished concrete or indoor surfaces, but it is subsiding the more I use them. Overall recommend, but have only walked about 10 miles in them so far.
Comfortable shoe and sole. The gusseted tongue makes it tight fitting with an orthotic. The foam sole is higher than I am used to sometimes making it unstable on uneven ground. Comfortable for long days on your feet though
I have several pairs of New Balance that are the standard toe width. These seem to be tighter which is causing a rubbing on my little toe. I should have purchased the wider tie but I based it off all my other pairs.
Been well tested on mud, snow and slippery surfaces in Banff and Jasper!
The sneakers kept my feet Fabulously Dry! They were also comfortable hiking, especially because my feet are wide and hard to fit.
Absolutely LOVE these hiking shoes. Recently visited Colorado and even had people on the trail complimenting them. Comfy , supportive and very good traction,
They are waterproof, non-slip and provide very good support and stability. They also looked stylish and well-designed. Shoes size are perfect fit.
